We've noticed the impact high ETH gas fees are having on generative artists & collectors. Skyrocketing costs of using Ethereum mean many artists can't mint projects & collectors pay more in gas than for the art itself.
This is neither sustainable nor healthy for the broader adoption of blockchains for digital art, and it certainly serves to hold the generative art space back from its peak potential 🏔️
Minimal gas fees (measured in cents, not hundreds of dollars) empower a thriving ecosystem that nurtures experimentation, expression, & creative freedom.
& that's on top of on-chain governance + smooth, low-latency user experience.
@tezos Tezos' scalable, low-cost transactional environment means web3 blockchain interactions (i.e., minting & collecting art) can be part of your everyday life instead of rare, costly events you have to save up for 💸
We encourage everyone, especially those affected by ETH gas costs, to explore the vibrant, open and affordable generative art space our platform offers.
With nearly two million unique artworks minted and countless projects available to collect, there's so much to discover 🔎
If you've spent $100+ USD in ETH gas fees in the past 6 months, claim 5 XTZ for free at the link below. That's enough to power your fxhash minting for months to come 🤩
We've just rolled out a few exciting new features + bug fixes, including a very noticeable improvement to the marketplace statistics page that we believe everyone will love!
Let's begin 🧵
1/
🪙 Marketplace statistics pagination
The old: marketplace stats were capped at the top 15 projects. This limited discoverability.
The new: marketplace stats now feature pagination, allowing you to flick through the top 50 projects sorted by 24hr, 7d, 30d, and all-time.

This often-requested feature is crucial for improving project discoverability. Soon, it'll encompass the top 100 projects.
Collectors can get a deeper look at the platform's repository of generative art & artists can more easily find themselves in the spotlight. Win-win 🤝
+ A powerful new feature enabling artists to build controls collectors can explore, adjust, & toggle at time of minting.
Using fx(params) is simple, intuitive, & above all, very fun. And it's coming soon - so let's talk about what it is & why we've built it 🧵
1/
fxhash is about giving artists and collectors the maximum range of open tools designed to remove any barriers to creativity that may exist.
Integral to that mission is elegantly embracing the randomness inherent in gen art while building for the future & pushing art forward.
2/
The fortuitous combination of web3 + generative art has narrowed the long-held gap between artists & collectors, signaling the dawn of a collaborative era wherein artworks are marked by and result from creative community-driven interactions.
Exactly one year ago, the first fxhash project was published. 365 days later & there are now 20K+ projects, 1.3 million unique mints, and a global fx community 💖
Let's take a look back before talking about how we'll celebrate!👇

On November 2nd, 2021, @ciphrd shared this video with the early Discord community to preview the minting process we've all come to know and (hopefully) love 😆
