I see my old mate @CortesSteve has turned his back on Trump. We all knew it was coming. That's ok. People will make mistakes when they're not offered top jobs. But I will take this moment to remind you of his article for us. Guess he's an insider now! thenationalpulse.com/2020/10/11/out…
It kinda tells you everything that his endorsement of DeSantis comes in the pages of the liberal-left Newsweek, and on Fox Business at 11:15am. Sad!
By the way! Steve's daughter Kingsley is still MAGA HARDCORE. Follow @KingsleyCortes. The Good Cortes!!!
The thing is, DC food is marginally improving (it’s way behind most major US cities) *but* the restaurants are getting smaller, more cramped, more plastic, and less comfortable at the same time. So while many will bother one time, they aren’t creating loyal customer bases.
A huge moment for those of us who have banged on about this for years now. Check out some of our long-standing reporting on the matter here: thenationalpulse.com/2022/07/01/rea…
15 years and 10 million dollars to create a small “bean” sculpture in New York.
Imagine how many tins of Heinz Baked Beans they could’ve bought instead!
If you’re interested, I did the maths. At 2008 prices this thing cost $13.5m. A tin of Beans is about $1, and has BEAN (ha!) in that range for a while, especially in bulk orders. So you’re talking about at least 13.5 MILLION TINS OF BEANS.
By the way, the UK consumes 2.5 million tins of beans PER DAY. So this wouldn’t go very far in England, BUT, in 2008 there was something like 40,000 homeless in NYC. You could feed ALL OF THEM for a year on that.
