Trump has never been about Trump but about the Trump voter. Understanding the Trump supporter—the people laughing and clapping for him at this Town Hall—is perhaps the most important assignment in American political life, and neither side is interested in doing it #CNNTownhall
Trump refusing to be pressured into saying he wants Ukraine to win, insisting it's about saving lives rather than sides and thereby inviting the rage of the bipartisan, wall-to-wall support for more foreign wars, is a huge part of his appeal, both in terms of substance and style.
That was the most significant moment of the evening in terms of Trump's real significance, though I imagine the coverage will focus on all the other little outrages.

The definition of woke: The reracialization of American life that suggests that people who were historically oppressed are today victims. It's imposing a power differential onto a physical attribute—race, gender, sexuality—then suggesting it's fixed in stone and must be reversed.
Are we guilty of culturally appropriating a word that used to refer to state sponsored violence against Blacks? Yes. But sociologists needed a word to describe the shift in 2015 when white progressives got more extreme in how they spoke about race than Blacks and Hispanics.
I'm happy to use another word if the Left would supply a different one to describe this phenomenon. But I suspect that the policing of the language is a way to keep working class people who don't have time to spend all day having arguments of definition out of the conversation.

Pretending that sharing public information is the same as doxxing is exactly the kind of rebranding, doublethink, and safetyism to protect private interests and dismiss valid criticism that is the Left's bread and butter. It's absolutely wild to see the Right fall for this.
What's the opposite of a red pill?
I'm not saying you have to feel sympathy for the folks who were banned. They wouldn't if you were banned, that's for damn sure. I'm saying have some dignity. You're being used.

Too bad Keaira Bennefield wasn't rich, white & married to Dem royalty or her assailant might have been held w/out bail for trying to kill her like David DePape was. Instead her ex was immediately freed to go kill her. My latest on this sickening hypocrisy:

Democrats have an opportunity after the horrific attack on Paul Pelosi for some soul searching, having exercised that muscle one uses to feel for the victims of horrific acts of violence—long-atrophied on the Left. Let's hope they use it for their voters.

DePape is being held without bond due to the safety risk he poses—exactly as a violent, mentally ill person who attacked someone elderly should be. Yet what a contrast with the treatment of violent criminals who assault poor and working-class Americans.

My God, just when you think they can't go lower: A bodega owner who defended himself from an ex-con is in Rikers on $250K bail. It's not enough to let career criminals loose—if you don't submit to their attacks, YOU will go to jail. The absolute depravity.

"Get caught with an illegal gun, get released without bail. Shove an elderly person to the ground, attack someone because they are Asian, a slap on the wrist. But defend yourself and your business from a man who attacks you, and Bragg sends you to Rikers."

These prosecutors think their job is to prosecute the victims of crime. Just let that sink in.

The New York Times spent thousands and thousands of words and dollars to uncover the truth about Tucker Carlson: that he uses his platform to talk about the class divide and immigration depressing working class wages, views any Democrat would have proudly endorsed 15 years ago.
But if you're part of the ruling class like the NYT, you don't want anyone exposing the vast chasm separating you from the people you pretend to represent. So having uncovered that Tucker talks endlessly about the class divide, they color caring about inequality as "racism."
This takes subterfuge. They have to hide the fact that Tucker is the most watched show by Democrats. It takes chutzpah. The NYT didn't run a single oped by a Trump voter in the run up to the election, yet complains that the leftists Tucker has on ALSO care about class—the horror!

Left & Right wing journos squabbling over Elon Musk buying Twitter like it's a fight about free speech. It's not. It's about the control the Chinese government will now have over American political discourse through a compliant stooge who somehow convinced people he's a renegade.
I am very against the silencing and deplatforming of conservatives on Twitter. It's anti-democratic as we saw with the Hunter laptop story. But we need to have that fight for our democracy and for free speech. Instead someone who tweeted "China rocks!" now owns the platform.
If Twitter is important enough that silencing conservatives is an issue of free speech (I think it is), the last thing you should want is a billionaire man child desperate to be popular who has debased himself to the Chinese Communist Party to control it.
