On @Gabz_FM this morning @MizPoloko and @Dollarmac1 have Opposition Party Reps to speak to Opposition cooperation going into 2024.
LOL
To be honest, the state of opposition politics in Botswana is worrying, they have struggled to make a dent in their dominance. The last elections were no different, with the BDP winning a comfortable majority in parliament,
The lack of a strong opposition in Botswana has led to a concentration of power in the hands of the ruling party. This has resulted in a lack of accountability, corruption, and a disregard for the rule of law,
They are fragmented, with no clear agenda or leadership. This has led to a lack of unity and cooperation among them, making it difficult to mount a serious challenge to the BDP,
They lack focus on the issues that matter to the people, and a failure to provide a viable alternative to the ruling party,
The lack of a strong opposition in Botswana has also led to a lack of political debate and discussions, This has really stifled democracy,
This weak opposition has also failed to mobilize the youth vote. The majority of the population in Botswana is under 35, yet the opposition parties have struggled to connect with young people and inspire them to participate in politics, weak weak weak.
This weak opposition has also led to a lack of representation for marginalized groups, such as women and minorities. We know that the ruling party has failed to address issues of gender equality and discrimination, and the opposition has been unable to hold them accountable,
The ruling party has been accused of using its dominance to rig elections and suppress opposition voices, without facing consequences. Because we lack a strong opposition, this has made it difficult to challenge these practices and ensure fair elections…

Banna le ba Sadi ba opposition should get serious and wear their big boy/girl panties.

Well,
In regards to opposition parties boycotting the radio station i work for, this would not be an effective solution to any concerns they may have. A better approach would be to engage in constructive dialogue and debate, and to ensure that there is a diversity of voices…
and perspectives represented in the media…
I believe as CITIZEN and VOTER, i have the right to express my opinions and engage in political discourse outside of my professional role…
