Last week I was in the renowned #AvalancheSummit II (my first conference in Spain) and it was an amazing experience. I am becoming more of an @avax Bull every day as I witness the ecosystem's vibrancy and the emergence of new builders.
The promise of 150+ subnets in progress is creating a competitive but thriving environment. Initially, I had some reservations about Avalanche's community and ecosystem, given that the open-sourced materials for building are relatively new.
However, I was pleasantly surprised to meet so many builders working on exciting projects. @GoGoPool_ and others are providing a bottom-up approach to help all kinds of builders to create subnets.
It was particularly encouraging to see many @cosmoshub -native people there, which reinforced our belief in the AppChain thesis and the future of multichain. @CosmosAVAX , a project that utilizes the cosmos SDK in Avalanche subnet, perfectly embodies this idea.
Some of my highlights include:
The first was giving my first talk with @ethalita_ about the App-chain thesis and Subnets. We shared our experience in the Cosmos ecosystem and discussed the best ways to leverage validators to build a functional subnet. DM me for slides!
The talk was successful, and a few teams approached us afterward for advice and to connect. We also attended (and collaborated with) @GoGoPool_ 's workshop on how to use #Gogopro and leverage @ChorusOne as infrastructure providers.
With GogoPro, builders can plug and play, modify, or add censorship to specific transactions to their subnet while using Chorus One as infra providers. This means that builders can focus solely on building, which is a significant advantage.
Our side event with @InteropVC , @Cerulean_xyz , and @KYVENetwork was great. A lot of Cosmos-native people there and great conversations. Mr. Istanbul below specially enjoyed the corquetas. Image
I learned more about Avalanche Wrap Messaging during @AaronBuchwald 's workshop, which is a messaging tool that contrasts with other interoperability solutions like Cosmos IBC.
Because subnet validators have to stake in the main chain, every validator is part of the same set, eliminating the need for clients to send transactions to a different L1 validator set. Messaging can happen at the consensus level.
Validators only have to send a message, which reduces the risk considerably, and there is no need to build a messaging protocol on top of the communicating chains. Of course, this is only possible because the Avalanche consensus is not dependent on the amount of validators
@AvascanExplorer 's talk was impressive, particularly their announcement of an Explorer as a service tool where any subnet can launch an explorer in Avascan with a few lines of code. They even provide explorers to non-Avalanche chains and seek to be chain agnostic.
The interest in making subnets the place for on-chain financial institutions was great. With tools like Gogopro, developers can implement any type of requisites and compliance boundaries seamlessly.
We met the @tokenforge team, who are building a subnet with a new token standard to be compliant with the German government. Also very excited about @Spruce, an Evergreen Subnet to make trade execution and settlements more efficient.
Finally, the summit ended with a great surprise when @el33th4xor introduced a "crazy but could be great" idea to introduce the AI revolution into the Avalanche Ecosystem.
Emir envisions a possible future where everyone can become developers using Blockchain + AI technology.
