[THREAD] The Bloemfontein Magistrates Court has heard how the car that drove #KatlegoBereng's body into the Mangaung Prison was allegedly hired by #DrNandiphaMagudumana's father, Zolile Sekeleni at the OR Tambo International Airport. @LindA_MniSii

That vehicle allegedly travelled to Mangaung where it was allegedly driven by Senohe Matsaora, carrying Bereng's body, into Mangaung Prison. @LindA_MniSii

Matsoara is said to have received the body at a fake funeral conducted at a certain house in Mangaung. In the grave, Investigators found 3 10kg mealie meal bags placed inside the coffin. #DrNandiphaMagudumana allegedly claimed the body.

Motenyane Masukela worked at the entrance that Matsoara allegedly used to enter the premises of the prison. The state witness claims, Masukela did not search Matsoara, instead he later helped him offload Bereng's corpse and a TV stand. @LindA_MniSii

The witness revealing how Teboho Lipholo allegedly placed Berengs body in a "trolley dustbin" and took it to Broadway Unit, where Bester was kept, through an emergency door and placing it in what is called the "darkroom" that leads to the prison roof.

This is where the corpse was kept. The witness further reveals how on the day before Besters escape, Lipholo allegedly cheated the biometrics system, pretending to knock off but remained at the prison. The plan to bring Bereng's body into cell 35 would then be hatched.

Matsoara allegedly visited a prison cell occupied by 4 inmates. According to the witness, a supervisor is required to register when they visit but he didn't. While he was there, the witness says reports of smoke coming out of cell 35 emerged.

The 38 year old went to inspect but came back and said there was no smoke. It also emerged that he ordered the only official that was on duty to attend to the inmate who complained of shortness of breath leaving the Broadway Unit unattended.

According to the witness, two officials would usually be designated for the Broadway Unit but on that day, there was only one official on duty. The official was allegedly at the unit that housed the 4 inmates until 3am.

At 3am he moved to monitor inmates who working in the kitchen preparing meals. Thats fire allegedly started in Besters cell. Bester was allegedly provided with G4S uniform and walked out of prison with Lipholo. The 45 year technician had allegedly switched off the cameras

Tieho Makhotsa and Anastassja Jansen allegedly opened the doors that Bester used to leave the prison.

Lipholo was allegedly promised R2.5 Million but paid R40 000 by Matsoara. The money was deposited into his wife's account. He married the lady shortly before Bester's escape.

The investigators are in posession of Matsoara's bank statements that reveal that he received approximately R150 000 from Thabo Bester using the TK Nkwana alias.

Tieho was allegedly paid R14 000. The state has finished leading evidence of this witness. Cross examination will start on the 16th of May when the matter continues. @LindA_MniSii
