#haikaveh where post graduation Kaveh got a big commission request to go Inazuma and study it’s architecture and help build more substantial buildings. Kaveh agrees, his house is empty, his mother had left for Fontaine years ago and his friendship with Alhaitham was in tatters.
There really wasn’t anything for tidying down Kaveh in Sumeru excluding his father grave and empty home, so he sells the house, asks his kind neighbours if they could occasionally visit his father while he was away and left for the nation of eternity.
Everything fine.
Until midway through his studies on Watatsumi Island, it isn’t, until the nation goes on lockdown not allowing anyone in or out of its islands, additionally a savage war breaks out over the vision hunt Decree.
Kaveh, unable to not help those in need joins the fight!
The war is long and brutal, and changes him in ways that he can’t describe, he makes many enemies and friends along the way. His hands are covered in blood that will never wash away… no matter how hard he tries.
Fortunately a traveler from afar comes and the war finally ends.
Kaveh decides after that that’s it’s time to head back, he’d already gotten much more then he’d bargain for —some good some bad— in Inazuma and needed a break, a rest. So when the famous traveler says they’re heading to Sumeru next, Kaveh tells him he’ll guide them!
They split as soon as they arrive, the traveler wanting to explore the first more while Kaveh, he knows what he wants to do, has a desperate need to see Alhaitham. But what if he’s forgotten him? Or simply doesn’t care? However, the war had given him a new confidence.
Even if Alhaitham doesn’t want to see him, at least seeing the other will settle the feeling in his gut.
But before that it’s time to visit his father’s grave.
However as it turns out he’s not alone. Stood in front of the grave was none other then Alhaitham himself!
And oh Archons how he’s changed! Hell, he’s even taller then Kaveh now! Muscles that were frankly unfair for a man who would spend his whole life in a library surrounded by books and knowledge, reading until he was eventually kicked out to be actually human being and socialise.
“A-Alhaitham.” Kaveh can barely stutter out, so full of emotion, ones he’s buried for years on end. He feels like he’s going to explode.
Said man whips head head around, so fast and furious (pun not intended) that Kaveh’s worried that he’s have hurt his neck muscles.
Emerald eyes widen in shock, he’s stands there stock still. Mouth page and expression surprised. Previously, Kaveh would have found this hilarious the usually stoic, sassy junior who always had to get the last word currently shocked into silence! Ha!
But now…
There’s a full minute of silence between them and Kaveh’s unsure of how to break it. Should he? And what should he say? Should he wave? Leave? He’s doesn’t know.
But before he can get too lost in his thought Alhaitham seems to gather his own thoughts together and strides forward
towards Kaveh with a quick, purposed paces across the small clearing in the graveyard.
He stops when he stand’s practically on Kaveh’s toes, they’re so close and —oh archons Alhaitham’s always been beautiful it he’s matured into such a handsome man— finally does he speak.
“Kaveh.” It’s low and rough, almost a grunt, eyes narrowed in on the blond who’s resist the urge to shudders, he’d be on the receiving end of worse more deadly looks over the last few years after all.
“Alhaitham I-“ Kaveh starts though he doesn’t actually know what to say.
Did Alhaitham really still hate him? He knows he’d left their conjoined project and they’d ended on bad terms…
Kaveh vividly remembers himself storming out of the house of Daena, tears streaming down his face after his big agrument, omitting his name from the work and project.
However, whatever Kaveh has though Alhaitham was going to do, he never had guessed this. Because one second he’s looking into the other narrows, green haze the next he’s being embraced in a tight hold, his head being pressed into his junior’s —firm and rather muscular— chest.
While the other as the other presses into Kaveh’s hair, and breathes, “I missed you.”
Kaveh had flinched at the unexpected contact, the last time someone held him in a somewhat similar position they then promptly attempted to choke him, and steal his vision.
Fortunately if Alhaitham noticed the action —of course he would this was Alhaitham after all— he didn’t mention it.
“I missed you Kaveh.” Alhaitham repeats face smushed into Kaveh’s unkept locks, his hair care routine has gone to shit during the war, he’d had make do with soap.
There wasn’t any branded floral shampoo on the front lines after all, in fact, if they got a warm shower and warm meal then it was considered a good day, majority of the time they washed in the rain —fortunately storms in Inazuma were easy to come by— and eat small ration packs.
Then all of a sudden Kaveh can’t hold it any longer, all the emotions and feelings he’s been trying to reign in since he’s stepped foot back in the nation, since he’d seen the lock of silver hair… He cries, sobs, into Alhaitham chest, as the latter to only tighten his embrace.
(Again I’ll delete this tweet later and continue but I do have to go to work and suffer!)

#haikaveh (Winter Soldier Au) where Kaveh is presumed dead after a “accident” in the desert, just after he finished the Akademia, Alhaitham’s mourned but moved on, eventually, —not really, he’s still haunted by the memory of Kaveh— then one day while out with the traveler
as they made their arrangements to stop the Akademia and save their Archon are attacked by a masked assassin, fortunately the pair are able to defend themself against the ruthless and deadly man.
Alhaitham even manages to knock his mask off and get a good look at his face.
Alhaitham pauses, stop mid battles baffling everyone, even the assassin himself.
I-it can’t be!
He foolishly takes a step forward towards the armed man.
“Kaveh.” Alhaitham calls out but all he gets is glares, mixed with a pained look.
#haikaveh okay but Kaveh begging accidentally sent back in time to King Deshret area, but no one knows as he vanished without a trace and assumed dead. However, slowly as Alhaitham reads his books, ancient books that have recently caught his attention he sees a pattern.
A strange, freaky pattern where he sees quotes and phrases in the book, almost like it’s a code. He’s smart and he picks up on it all, and notes that all these book are from a mysterious unknown author in the past who has no history in the Akadamia records. Strange.
He goes from one book to the next, to the next as he figures out the code, almost likes it’s a secret message simply made for him. He works out the code, if a location with deep within the desert, curious he goes, but he’s still wary and mourning Kaveh’s disappearance.
#Haikaveh So it was an accident really, in fact, part of Kaveh still doesn't understand how exactly it happened, but to cut a long story short...
He managed to an old sealed book that he'd obtained from Dori who claimed it was filled with Ancient Desert architecture knowledge.
This would have come of great use as his latest client wanted something different and special to represent their heritage from beyond the wall, as they settled down in city life.
It really would.
If Kaveh had even gotten the chance to read the first page...
As soon as he peeled off the old seal of the book -something Dori claimed was harmless- thinking of how much Alhaitham probably would love to read this as well once Kaveh was finished with it, and then promptly how much Kaveh loved Alhaitham, the book emitted a blinding light.
#haikaveh Kaveh being the worst vampire ever, like he’s too kind to ask for blood and is forever on the verge of fainting from lack of proper food, fake blood is not only expensive but a proper substitute.
Also he’s broke poor, homeless and in debt even after living decades.
Which is where Alhaitham comes in, honestly he hadn’t believed in vampires before he met Kaveh and whatever knowledge he had came from then teenagers movies and romance novels, which as proven by Kaveh was mostly inaccurate. Unless it was just the blond himself who was a anomaly.
Which would make sense because why would a powerful vampire not want to hurt anyone when not only do they have the ability too, but also because they need to to survive… it doesn’t make sense to Alhaitham.
Don’t even get him started on the blonds financial situation!
