Governor Nyesom Wike was declared the winner of the Rivers State Gubernatorial Election on the 13th of April, 2015 and he was sworn in as the Executive Governor of Rivers State on the 29th of May, 2015.

Below are some of his achievements in office.

Immediately after his inauguration, he flagged off “Operation Zero Porthole” in the presence of Rivers people and the management of Julius Berger.

He immediately started the inspection of abandoned projects in the state and he vowed to complete all abandoned projects.

He visited different Local Government Areas to ascertain the level of work done by contractors before they abandoned the projects.

He completed the Woji-Elelenwo Road and it was commissioned by the then Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

Governor Nyesom Wike completed the faculty of law building in Rivers State University within his first 100 days in office.

Governor Nyesom Wike built the Faculty of Medical Science building in Rivers State University and it was commissioned by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Governor Nyesom Wike built the National Industrial Court complex and it was commissioned by the then CJN, Justice Onoghen.

Rumuokwuta Girls Secondary School complex was remodeled by Governor Nyesom Wike.

Governor Nyesom Wike bought cars for Rivers State judges and as they retire, they retire with the cars.

Governor Nyesom Wike built houses for Judges of Rivers origin and as they retire, they retire with the houses.

Judges that declined to live in the estate were given N150 Million each to build their own houses in their choice location.

Governor Nyesom Wike also built Appeal Court Staff Quarters and Presiding Justice Quarters.

Governor Nyesom Wike constructed the Isiokpo Internal Roads (PHASE I) and it was commissioned by H.E Atiku Abubakar GCON.

Governor Nyesom Wike built and commissioned the Faculty of Technical and Science Education in Rivers State University.

Governor Nyesom Wike reconstructed the Igwuruta-Chokocho Road (FEDERAL ROAD).

It was commissioned by Sen. Godswill Akpabio.

The Brick House (Former Government House) was built in 1928.

Diete Spiff and other Governors of the state was lived there. The last occupant was Dr. Peter Odili.

It was remodeled by Governor Nyesom Wike and was commissioned by Sen. David Mark.

Governor Nyesom Wike built and commissioned the Faculty of Environmental Science in Rivers State University.

Remodeling of Birabi Memorial Girls school, Bori.

It was commissioned by Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Port Harcourt pleasure park used to be a hideout for criminals and kidnappers.

It had a borrow pit and criminals usually go there to hide.

Governor Nyesom Wike instructed Julius Berger to turn it into a recreational park. Construction began immediately.

Ladies and gentlemen, Port Harcourt Pleasure Park.

Hundreds of Rivers people work here and make a living here.

Governor Nyesom Wike constructed the 11 internal roads in Omoku and it was commissioned by Sen. Godswill Akpabio.

Governor Nyesom Wike constructed the new Nkpogu bridge and it was commissioned by His Excellency, President Goodluck Jonathan GCFR.

Governor Nyesom Wike reconstructed the Obiri-Ikwerre Airport Road and it was commissioned by His Excellency, Bukola Saraki.

Governor Nyesom Wike built a cassava processing plant.

This plant employs over 4500 people and it was commissioned by the Minister of Agriculture.

Also present at the event was the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

Governor Nyesom Wike built an Ecumenical Center and it was commissioned by Pastor E.A Adeboye.

Governor Nyesom Wike constructed a 258-bed Mother and Child Hospital.

This Hospital project was supposed to be a partnership project between the Rivers State Govt and NDDC.

Unfortunately, NDDC did not keep to the agreement and the Rivers State Government had to continue alone.

The Mother and Child Hospital also has a Doctors Quarters built in the Hospital premises.

Governor Nyesom Wike traveled to Madrid Spain 🇪🇸 to meet with the leadership of Real Madrid, to enable him establish a Read Madrid Academy in Port Harcourt.

The academy will train young footballers while they also go to school.

After negotiations and agreement in Spain, the construction of Real Madrid Academy started in Port Harcourt.

The Real Madrid Academy was commissioned by the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare.

Some of the young players were sent to Madrid, Spain to train; fully sponsored by the Rivers State Government.

Governor Nyesom Wike gave each Rivers United Player $20,000 for winning the league.

Staff of Rivers United also got $20,000 each.

Governor Nyesom Wike built and commissioned the Faculty of Management Science in Rivers State University.

Governor Nyesom Wike conferred State Honors on Rivers United Players for making the state proud.

Governor Nyesom Wike was awarded as the Power of Sports (P.O.S Africa) for his contribution towards the development of Sports in Nigeria.

Governor Nyesom Wike replaced the vehicles he bought for the judges after 3 years.

As they retire, they retire with the vehicles.

Governor Nyesom Wike bought official vehicles for National Assembly Members from Rivers State across party lines.

Governor Nyesom Wike constructed the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Complex and it was commissioned by the Sultan of Sokoto.

Governor Nyesom Wike constructed the 21.3KM Odufor-Akpoku-Umuoye Road.

It was commissioned by Senator David Mark.

Governor Nyesom Wike bought vehicles for all the security agencies in the state.

He also bought gun boats for Nigerian Navy and Armored Tanks for Rivers State Police Command.

Governor Nyesom Wike bought Prisoner Transport Vehicles for the Rivers State Command of Nigeria Correctional Service.

When the fruit Garden Market got burnt, Governor Nyesom Wike visited the market that night, sympathized with them and promised to rebuild the market.
