It is astonishing that someone can be writing at this level of pay and exposure about an issue that they understand this poorly. Everyone involved should be embarrassed. It would be like if National Geographic paid me to imagine how lobsters reproduce without googling it first.
Important context here: I grew up in a religious household and was never told how baby lobsters are made.

Every bad boss I ever had told me I was just lucky to be there and there were a million people out there who would be happy to do the job for less. If that sounds familiar to your own life, support creative professionals, especially if you are or want to become one. #WGAStrong
If you do want to have a creative career someday, tagging studios on twitter to tell them you’ll work cheaper than the writers who are striking is shooting yourself in the foot on multiple levels for a gambit that wasn’t going to work to begin with.

Today, a total stranger, not in the biz, found out I was on strike and said to me, “The arrogance of that man.”
I’m not gonna blow up her spot, but it’s possible the average person outside this conflict is becoming aware of it and choosing a side.
Also just an explosion of general interest and awareness in behind the scenes of show business. When I was a kid, the average rabid Batman or Star Wars fan would not be doing kremlinology about studio executives with their friends.
