Move Forward leading/winning, first reaction, fan-f$#king-tastic. Demonstrates the demographic shift in the country, the failure of the military & friends to prove they know how to run a country, & the populaces desire for a change.
Now forming the government...it's an analysis of self-interests...MF + PT both said they won't work w/ the military, that leaves BJT or senators needed to form the gov...
What are the self-interests of the appointed senators? Short term $$ in the bank account? If they partner with Move Fwd does that send a negative signal to the monarchy?
PT - what are they going to do? They can't be seen going against the majority, or can they? Imagine #10 says to Mr T, "we'll let you back in if you form the gov w/o Move Fwd?" Mr. T doesn't have a good track record at making long-term decisions...
BJT - Easiest to understand, they just want $ and power as the kingmaker.
Several possible scenarios at the moment, perfect world Move Fwd + PT + a few senators join up and take Thailand 🚀🌙 or Malaysia 2.0 w/ Thai spices.
Another coup? Sure, why not? It's in the blood of the country for a millennia. Being in the region for the past 4 decades, I've seen new buildings, commerce etc pop up, but the culture of a country doesn't change. Only q is when, 4yrs? 10 yrs? Let's see.

I'm receiving amusing sell-side commentary that Move Forward is anti-capitalist and will be negative for the local stock market...so...monopolies, oligopolies, and crony capitalism are better?
Wouldn't liberalising industries i.e. alcohol lead to more widespread competition & value creation?
Imagine what if the most competitive/competent Thai entrepreneurs were able to compete on a "level" playing field, as opposed to being protected by a concessionary license awarded a century ago.
