This weekend I sent out a proposal for an alternative strategic plan for the #OpenStreetMap Foundation 🧵

Part one focuses on completing the map via changing the way the OSM website works:

Part two was around funding and accountability to achieve part one:

2. Funding will focus on completing the map:

a. By having a clear metrics-based plan above we can seek funding to build specific tools and features towards map completion.

Finally part three was about changing the way the OSMF works so there's a realistic chance of achieving this:

a. Reduce the board size and require regional representation.

The core question is, do we want to complete the map or not?

If we do want to complete #OpenStreetMap as we approach the 20th anniversary of the project, then "life as usual" isn't going to get us there. Indeed, the OSMF failed to even run a conference this year.
