As the current season in Europe comes to an end, it's time to start preparing for the next season.
In this Masterclass, you will learn essential steps of thinking ahead, analyzing your squads, and assessing transfer risks and opportunities.
Thread👇
Before you BUY or SELL players in the #Sorare market read and study this Masterclass.
First of All, you need to be aware of the Season Calendar and the Transfer Windows for all leagues.
Credits to @RodentSorare for this Calendar until August.
The Sorare Calendar you can easily find in Twitter or Discord.
Information about the Transfer windows you can find by using Google.
I found the dates for Europe within 30 sec.
We can expect a lot of transfer activities by the clubs with lots of impact on our #Sorare Gallery.
Analyze all your Players in your Gallery
Take some time and check the Contract Situations and Rumors of all your Players.
For contract situations I usually use transfermarkt.
Sometimes you can find useful information about the contract under further information.
For example if the player is on loan whether the club has a buy option.
If there is no information on Transfermarkt, you can use Google News or Twitter Search.
Rumors & Transfers
I usually check Transfermarkt first and additionally Twitter Search or Google News, because Transfermarkt sometimes misses transfers or is not as updated as other sites.
With twitter Search you can filter for latest news and use translation, if needed.
Assess Team Signings and Departures
Investigate if there are already any confirmed signings or departures for the next season within our players teams. I usually use Transfermarkt for it.
With that Information you can consider potential competition for your players in their respective positions in the next seasons.
Think about the effect on the playtime and scoring of your players.
Optimally you own cards of Players who have a good standing in the club.
Usually a Player with high Market Value (MV) within the team and high MV compared to same position Players from other Clubs in the same league, are considered as valuable and get a lot of playtime.
You can compare the MV of your player within the team in the club overview.
You can compare your Players MV with similar players from the same league here.
You can also check how much the club played for the player in transfer history.
Also Consider the club politics
Is the club financially stable?
Will the coach be the same?
What are the goals of the club next season?
Evaluate the effectiveness of your Players/Teams and their relevance for the upcoming season.
In case you have a stack of Players from the same team, ask yourself, whether they will likely still play together and perform better, same or worse in terms of SO5 results?
If there is a concrete transfer news, ALWAYS try to determine whether the transfer risk is positive, neutral or negative.
Go through all the potential scenarios.
Sometimes I observe the Sorare market not reacting to obvious negative events until everyone understands.
Check the relative strength of the player and his TEAM within the current league.
1) Whats the quality of your player compared to the average player in the current league. 2) How much are the stats influenced by the strength of the team he is currently playing with.
What will those two factors look like in case of a transfer?
1) Will the player have a higher, same, worse edge against other Players from that league?
2) Will the player move to a better, same or worse team, relatively seen within their league?
Be careful with top players from Challenger Leagues, 2nd Division Leagues or American Teams which are known for moving players to Europe.
You can loose a lot of money if you hold them too long.
If you are unsure about a Players situation, you can take a look into his transfer History and Country of Origin.
If they change their clubs a lot of origin from a country with unlicensed league you should better sell the player.
e.g. Players from Australia, Egypt, Uruguay, etc
You can check which leagues are licensed in the Sorare footer.
In case you are considering buying a card, but there is too much negative risk, wait until the transfer window is closed before you buy it. Sometimes it can be better to buy a Player when there is more Clarity. Sometimes it's worth taking the risk. It always depends on the price.
This completes the Transfer Window Masterclass.
Following those steps will make you avoid losing a lot of money by holding or buying the wrong players at the wrong time.
You can also use it reversely to identify and trade players with positive transfer upside, now that we are coming closer to the next transfer window.

WRITE DOWN where you miss and where you have too many cards for the upcoming gameweeks/season.
FOCUS on a few high EV teams instead of many medium/weak teams. Sorare Payouts are topheavy, so lining up mediocre teams won't win you good rewards in the long run.

1️⃣ Choose a strategy that suits you: Set a focus on either SO5 or Trading. Consider the skill set required and which approach aligns better with your preferences.
SO5: This strategy demands careful planning and research, along with patience and a long-term vision.
Trading: This involves being active online, making quick deals, negotiating with other managers or gallery sellers, and understanding market dynamics.
