Ok. Forget the salacious #MatthewMcGreevy stuff and the #HollyWilloughby melodrama.

Give the following thread a read and a RT as we've lost sight of the lawful, factual reason as to why #PhilipSchofield's position with #ThisMorning is totally untenable and that @ITV have to act.

And that they haven't so far is a reinforcement as to how the entire #JimmySavile reign was allowed to occur and why the promise of accountability in the industry is seemingly completely hollow.

Let's begin:

#PhilipSchofield's statement at his brother's trial opens with an account of being told about his sibling causing a child to watch sexual activity and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child MINIMUM.

His statement then ends with "If any crime had ever been confessed to me by my brother, I would have acted immediately to protect the victim and their family."

A crime WAS confessed to him.

If #PhilipSchofield was legitimately ignorant to the fact it is illegal to cause a child to watch sexual activity and engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child he should've at least had enough of a moral compass to speak to some agency...

... for guidance about what he was being told or seek advice from ANY of the lawyers he pays £30k a month for in relation to his own super-injunction (but that's another matter)...

... because ANY RIGHT MINDED or REASONABLE person hearing what #PhilipSchofield details would acknowledge a teenage boy has been taken advantage of in a way that doesn't sound right.

Now, the fact that not one single law enforcement representative in any agency wants to ask follow-up questions or carry out actions against Pip's decidedly dodgy and extremely whiffy statement is ONE THING.

But the fact that @ITV think it okay to keep a man of little morality or basic comprehension towards child safeguarding on telly - THAT is something else entirely.

We can't control the absence of repercussions for #PhilipSchofield's brazenly false statement. We CAN control the latter. That's where targeted campaigns against #ThisMorning's advertisers, boycotting of the show, pressure against every celeb who appears on it ALL come into play.
