"Ukrainian troops report that [the Russians] often appear to be under the influence of amphetamines or other narcotic substances, with material recovered from the battlefield indicating that these are commonly taken in liquid form": rusi.org/explore-our-re…
"Ukrainian troops noted that many continued to advance, even after being wounded. On more than one occasion Ukrainian soldiers report that disposable infantry have been shot from Russian positions when attempting to retreat."
"VDV and naval infantry units, for example, have seen significant qualitative decline over the course of the war owing to regeneration. By contrast, because Wagner assault units often comprise companies, they are either lost or succeed."
"Ukrainian forces report that while the weight of artillery fire remains high, MLRS launches are significantly less than in previous months, suggesting munitions shortages."
"[T]anks are used as highly accurate fire support assets able to stand off at 2 km and utilise their enhanced optics to identify and knock out firing positions..."
"It is important to note that while the introduction of older tanks such as the T62 and T55 to the field has been mocked online, these vehicles are largely being used in the role of the fire support function offered by BMPs and other infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs)."
"The Russian military is also continuing to make extensive use of navigational interference in the battle area as a form of electronic protection. This is contributing to a Ukrainian loss rate in UAVs of approximately 10,000 per month."
"Along with the successful interception of most high-speed anti-radiation missiles (HARMs) fired by Ukrainian aircraft, the Russian air defence network is now assessed to be achieving a significant number of intercepts against GMLRS munitions."

That not everyone in the U.S. government is on board with a categorical Ukrainian victory has been obvious for quite a while, and more readily alluded to by Ukrainians and Europeans.
The good news is that the longer Ukraine continues to defy expectation and conventional wisdom (Bakhmut, Kinzhal interceptions, F-16 training, etc. etc.), the weaker this school of thought grows.
And U.S. allies have played a major role in weakening it, especially the UK. Challengers, Storm Shadows, F-16 training -- all this cut a path for bolder U.S. security assistance. It was telling that Reznikov said the one electorate he worried not at all about was Britain's.

Randi Lucile Nord, a 35 year-old who has been charged with spray painted a swastika on a synagogue in Royal Oak, Michigan (shedtried to pin the vandalism on supporters of Ukraine's Azov Regiment) was a frequent contributor to a bunch of pro-Iran websites: Image
Nord contributed a lot to Mint Press, a conspiracist website run out of Minneapolis whose funding is a mystery. It became notorious after publishing a fraudulent story claiming Assad didn't use sarin gas in Damascus in the lethal CW attack in 2013. buzzfeednews.com/article/rosieg…
Here is Nord's year-old Twitter profile: Image

Scoop: @YahooNews has obtained a U.S. Air Force assessment of how two Ukrainian pilots did in a 3-week course on F-16s at Morris Air National Guard Base in Feb/March. Conclusion: it’ll take 4 months to train them, not 18, as the Pentagon has said: news.yahoo.com/exclusive-us-c…
“Both pilots were able to successfully land the aircraft from an overhead simulated flameout (SFO) pattern This is a relatively technical skill that must be continually practiced throughout an F-16 pilot’s career.”
One of the biggest issues, as you’d expect, is English fluency for manning very technical instrument panels and also learning to fly in U.S.-standard multirole formation. But these are surmountable obstacles. And the report states the pilots’ English improved too after 3 weeks.

I'd be careful with these claims a Patriot system was "damaged" last night. More and more Ukrainian sources saying there was not something to write home about. Kirby now appears to confirm.
Now of course that could just be a line to downplay something more significant. But UKR Air Force tends to play it straight. Also had it from a HUR source saying same. FWIW.
Another important point here. Air Force is adamant nothing got through, so if it something did happen due to falling debris, where did it fall and on what?

Great investigation by @meduzaproject on how Russia's FSB has recruited ex-ISIS fighters to try to infiltrate Chechen and Tatar military units fighting for Ukraine: meduza.io/feature/2023/0…
Several years ago I did a long piece on how Russia instrumentalizes (back then one might have even said 'weaponizes') the very jihadists it claims to be fighting. thedailybeast.com/russias-double…

Whether HUR has cultivated and manipulated Prigozhin or it just wants the world (read: the Kremlin) to think it has, this is an absolutely banger psyop. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
This is “heads we win, tails you lose.” Best case: Prigozhin was egged on to turn against MoD, sow chaos and confusion on the Russian side, the dividend of which we are apparently seeing now. Worst case: Putin kills Prigozhin and that’s Wagner done and dusted.
Also struck me as curious how much praise Budanov lavished on Wagner in contrast with naval infantry, etc. Wagner were the only real fighters on the other side, he said.
