Today’s GOP would have you believe that they care about you… they do not. (Unless you’re a member of the uber wealthy club). Here’s how it works… for the sake of this conversation, let’s say it takes $2Trillion to run the country…

2. … that means $2T must be collected in taxes, just to run the country. That’s the BUDGET. (Not to be confused with the DEBT)
Well, if you cut taxes (in some cases, completely) for the top billionaires/corporations then that shortfall has to be made up somewhere else. ….

3. Because you still need $2T to run the country. With me so far?
So, where does the GOP go to collect what’s needed? They turn to you and me. Our taxes get raised. They cut funding to things like public education, the VA, public health, low income housing, scientific research…

4. …they also propose to cut Social Security, Disability, and Medicare. Now, imagine sitting around your kitchen table every month trying to pay your bills with less $ in your pocket.

So, how could they possibly care about you?

5. Today’s GOP would have you believe they care about this country… they do not. How could they?
Right now they are willing to let the US default on its DEBTS unless they get the cuts they want. (Debts by the way that were accrued, in part, by the previous administration). ..

6. In the history of our country, we have never defaulted on our debts. No matter which Party was in power… both Parties have always come together to raise the debt ceiling. Because they knew the fiscal avalanche it would start if they didn’t. Higher prices, …

7. … lower wages, higher unemployment, all leading to a self-imposed recession.

So, how could they possibly care about our country?

I’ll just leave you with this…
The greatest trick the GOP ever pulled, was convincing you that they care.
