Thread: Behind Enemy Lines

Some of you may know, I wear quite a few hats. My day job is in sales, which pays the bills, I also work as a medic, providing first aid services within the community and I also own a DJ business, which is what brings us to last night. 1/

I was asked a few months ago if I would DJ a fund raiser for Front Line Workers. I'm always one to help the community, and I consider myself a front line worker, so I was happy to help. The event was to be held in London, ON, 2 hrs from my home. 2/

The event was last night, just outside of London, in a barn. Everything started out really well. People were friendly, definitely country folk, the "Front Line Workers" arrived and came to the booth, they set up stuff to sell and thanked me for the support. 3/

Then do you remember the movie "Dusk To Dawn" where George Clooney was in a Mexican strip club, and suddenly all the strippers turned into Vampires? Yea, well when the front line workers grabbed the mic and started talking, suddenly, everything made perfect sense. 3/

The front line workers were Nurses that had refused the vaccine, been fired, started an anti vaxx movement and needed money to pay for fines, legal fees and of course, food and shelter. I suddenly found myself in a barn full of #Trumpanzees 😳 4/

So there I was up in my DJ booth with my Jamaican buddy, who says "Now it makes sense why I have the best tan in the room" ... He then tells me about the BUS that had pulled out from covered with Canadian Flags. The speeches started, and they went well over 30 minutes 5/

It was ALL THE SHIT you hear in right wing conspiracy theory circles about the vaccine killing people, the government covering it up, the censorship, the cytokine storms, the oppression and how everything is about to be exposed. And of course, they needed our money 6/

They needed it for the hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and fines, to support "The CONVOY" (which drew loud cheers) at which point I turn to my buddy and my wife and said "We'll be lucky to get out of here alive!"

These weren't just regular Trumpanzees 7/

They weren't frontline workers either, they were all frontline SOLDIERS! Suddenly I started looking at the dudes with the tattoos in the bald heads and I realized they were Nazis in the barn. This was hard core MAGA, over a hundred of them. Drinking!! The speeches carried on 8/

The one woman was using a baby, I wasn't even sure it was her baby to be honest, as a prop saying she couldn't afford to feed her baby. If there's a mother out there looking for a baby I think I know where it's at. They were working the crowd into a frenzy. 9/

Then this one guy comes up to the DJ booth and starts yelling at me "PUT THE MUSIC BACK ON I DIDN'T COME HERE TO LISTEN TO THESE CRAZY PEOPLE. I DON'T BELIEVE IN ANY OF THIS AND NOBODY I CAME WITH BELIEVES IN ANY OF THIS. CUT THE MIC AND PUT THE MUSIC BACK ON 10/

Obviously I couldn't do that. And they were standing right there so I couldn't say I know these people are fucking crazy and I was just a DJ...Cuz suddenly these frontline nurses are staring at me looking for me to deal with this guy who's booing them now. 11/

So because of the booing they decided to wrap it up and get back to the music and I couldn't think of a better song to start it with than Crazy Train!! I thought that might piss them off, but they loved it!! The Nazis are having a mosh pit and all I could do was go with it!! 12/

My Jamaican buddy is now literally scared because the realization has set in that we're in a white supremacy party in a barn down some dirt road outside of London ON and they weren't looking at him with loving caring eyes. And we had 3 hours to go 🥴 /13

Well, being a professional, I knew I couldn't troll the angry racist QAnon Trump loving crowd all night. So I did what any good DJ does, I kept them happy, kept them dancing and watched the clock. And when midnight hit, we got the hell out of Dodge as fast as possible /14

Hindsight wasn't kind to us on the drive has we all discussed how the hell did we miss it. I mean first of all, I got the gig through my anti-vax in laws. I've talked about them here before. The clues were all there. But none of us put it together. /15

We made it home safe and sound so I now get to tweet about it and share with you the night I spent behind enemy lines /END
