it started when lwy accompanied his shufu to lotus pier. his gege was very worried, as he wouldn't be able to join them this time.

it was shortly after arriving at lotus pier that they saw jxc, and lwy's breath hitched and he found that they could not take his eyes off of him.

it was a well known fact that the jiangs were descendants of merfolk, and that some of them were able to transform in water.

for the entire tour, jxc stayed in the water as he pointed out random spots around his home, such as the tree he and jyl sometimes have picnics under, or the best spot to catch frogs.

eventually, the mer looked up at him, head tilted. "why don't you join me in the water?"

"i don't know how to swim."

jxc paused then, something quickly flashing in his eyes before he beamed at him again. "you can borrow some of mine, if anything."

he felt the other gently tug on his robe. "come on. please? i have so much more to show you. lotus pier has so much more to offer below the surface."

lwy blinked. oh, so he was continuing the tour. he tilted his head slightly. "what else is there?"

that was how lwy found himself being brought down below the water, and lo and behold, jxc was right! there was so much more to see!

jxc pointed out at little schools of colourful fish, he pointed at different aquatic plants and how, as a child, he used to play with them.

every so often, jxc brought him back up to the surface so lwy could take a big gulp of air and breathe. it was during these times that lwy would ask questions or offer comments about what he just saw, and jxc eagerly bantered with him.

lwy giggled. he was having so much fun.

the next time jxc brought him up for air, the other man explained that the next place they would be going to was jxc's special hideout. the catch was that lwy would have to hold his breath a bit longer than before, but jxc would make sure to swim quickly to get there faster.

and so they went, with lwy gripping tightly to jxc as the other raced down towards their destination.

lwy sighed, and moved closer to the edge of the water where the other waited. "it's nice."

"it is," lwy nodded, "thank you for sharing it with me. it must not have been easy to do that."

jxc shook his head, his expression becoming just the slightest bit more serious. "no. i wanted to show you. i wanted to show you everything." he smiled at him. "did you like it?"
