I'd like to take a moment to clarify the overall stance on "Thargoids" and the lore for @CanonnResearch @Children_Raxxla @RaxxlaHunters ..

That said hyperspace technology is ancient so reverse-engineering isn't wholly unreasonable but transpires much earlier.

That said, the "Thargoid"-origin of human technology isn't per se wrong but something big is missing. GCS Saravasti by all rights should be pre-first game (3151) as Lave is a dictatorship. Walden takes over August 3174. Yet, there are aliens in first game.

This happens AGAIN with program EAGLE EYE. EAGLE EYE fails to detect yet there is something that appears. I think we need to strongly consider the codex stating Thargoids seeded a region with Barnacles and came back centuries later to find Guardians ...

... as indications of the first evolutionary split. Perhaps some "Thargoids" got left and began evolving separately. The "Thargoid" / Guardian War may have actually been the first of 3 civil wars. The other two being the known spats amongst Guardians.

The ongoing theme of technology vs nature appears to be largely a continuation of the theme nature-world vs technology. What if "Thargoids" are the Traditionalist branch? This would explain why Salvation's weapon was so handily turned against humanity.

Salvation thought he was fighting two species when he was fighting the SAME SPECIES that has been going at it for many millennia -- all because one group preferred more naturalistic approach and the other favored technology. This plays out in Humanity in the form of ...

... Raxxla / TDW hunters. These CMDRs are the traditionalist branch of humanity and the those who largely reject the old lore in favor of #EliteDangerous lore exclusively are in essence the Progressive Branch. It is also why like with Guardians the Traditionalist never give up.

I think we have been given multiple chances as CMDRs to say hold-up something just isn't adding up here and take a more cautious approach. To those I pushed away, I am sorry. Sometimes you don't fully understand something until the consequences can't be undone.

Perhaps☮️ was never really an option at least as an absolute. There may yet be value in a hybridized approach that merges the best of both worlds so there is less fighting. I suspect peace may be possible to a degree with some of the aliens. We need to accept our differences.

So, yes I think the term "Thargoid" is possibly over-simplistic. I also think humans are repeating history in terms of what happened with Thargoid/Guardian. Guardian/Guardian. Human/"Thargoid", and just possibly Human/Guardian interactions. We need to break the cycle.

Proteus Wave wasn't an accident. We were given warnings repeatedly we are doing something fundamentally wrong due to a deep misunderstanding of the situation. The Proteus Wave firing disaster was another sign we don't fully understand things.
