There are strange things done under an Alberta sun
By the leaders who moil for votes
1/

The smokey skies hide their secret lies
That would make your blood run cold;

The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever may see
is the night in May not too far away
Some still vote UCP

Now Dani was not elected fair, just a few chose her for the Crown,
Why some lost their minds as she passed the time making gaffes, only God can expound
3/

Her heart was cold but the land of Black Gold was asked to take her at her word
Though she’d often say in her polished way that “I didn’t mean what you heard.”

On a Spring day when the writ was called we hoped Truth would set us free.
But facts didn’t matter if her base could chatter like drunkards merrily

When our eyes we did close, the nightmares rose ’til we gasped “It cannot be!”
Four more years of lies and dreams sacrificed to the blathered insincerity.

Money thrown to the wind. Dollars given to friends. Cash gone in the blink of an eye.
With the price of oil high, government spending did fly. More conservative fleecing. But why?

What of our future? We howled out our woes. After UCP years, our accounts are all low;
Surely folks will think hard. And not swallow her lard. As she lies and blames all on Trudeau

Then Dani smiled and uttered most vile “I want your CPP too.” Shaken, aghast as we’d been in the past; now we feel threatened anew.
And more spending more spending, Though not for the frail. Nor the kids. Nor the needy. Just the UCP crew!

There is far less money for the good common folk. Keystone and War Rooms. I gag and I choke.
Coal mining she wants. Though it threatens our waters. And to pay for doc visits - This must be a joke!

A better choice beckons with a vision, I reckon, that could carry us forward from here.
Honest and ready. A future more steady. I will take that with good cheer.

Alberta’s real need is important to heed. Each X marks our future Fate.
Be bold and go forth with hope and not hate. Cast your vote early. Do not hesitate!

The difference is real. NDP the real deal. And we must not throw this one away.
Yet some will fall prey. They’ll vote their old way. But the rest of us do have a say!

In the late days of May lift your hearts to the sky. Let the clouds and the smokiness flee.
Tell the Northern Lights we have seen some odd sights, but we’re not voting UCP!
