It began on a Rainy day when her car broke down “In the mirror before me I saw his brown eyes, his wide smile. We wre childhd frnds but that day something changed between us.”

That Story rooted in Kerala, with a river & the rain in the back.
Moideen-Kanchana. 🌹🌸🌹1/16 Image
Mukkom, KERALA.

Kottangal Kanchanamala Daughter of Achuthan, from a privileged Hindu family.

BP Moideen son of Unnimoyi, a rich Muslim in the region.

Though conservative, in young secular India, both families had great friends.

The river Iruvazhinji & rain. 2/16 Image
They were childhood friends in the same school & grew up playing and studying 2gether.
1950s India
She was in class IX Moideen 3yrs older than her.
"Once he gave me a collection of poems by a Malayalam romantic poet, I found sentences wid love & romance were underlined."🌹 3/16 Image
Kanchana asked Moideen why he underlined those lines. He smiled & said nothing.
"But soon I started getting poetic love letters along with the books. I fell in love with him."
1957 Kanchana's mother found a love letter by Moideen & life sentences for both of them began.🌺 4/16 Image
Kanchana was held under house arrest by her parents stopping her education.
Moideen confessed that he was in love with Kanchana & his father pointed his gun at him; he turned around & walked away from home.

They didn't meet for the next 10 yrs. How does it sound frndz?🌷🌸5/16 Image
There is a quote "I could make love with you until the moon decides to never glow again."

They didn't meet even once for the next 10yrs, only through letters written in code words.

On 11/7/1964, Moideen's father stabbed him wid a knife 22 times, he survived. 🌺 6/16 Image
Every yr on that day, Kanchana & Moideen would write to each other: “We will never be apart. I will not live with any1 else.”

They met 23/11/67. “I remember that day so well. We met at the ferry. As I was leaving, I saw Moideen take a fistful of earth."
River Iruvazhinji.🍀7/16 Image
"What was that?” Kanchana asked him in a letter, “What were you taking from the ground?”

Moideen wrote back “Just the earth you walked on”.

Eternal love is not a Myth frndz. 🌹

Apart from being a short story writer, he was a footballer, swimmer, activist & painter.🌼8/16 Image
For next 15 yrs they met occasionally, Religion kept them apart.
If she had married Moideen, it would hv been hard for her 5 sisters to find a match. She waited till all her sisters got married even as she & Moideen grew older. They thought of running away several times.🌼 9/16 ImageImage
4 times they thought of eloping. But it was not destined to happen.

Every time events turned against them. Once her brother died, next her father had a heart attack, 3rd time her pregnant sister-in-law pleaded her & then Moideen’s father passd away.

Kanchana turned 41.🌻10/16 Image
It became pointless keeping them separated.

On 11/7/1982 she wrote a letter to Moideen.15/7/82 she took that letter to be posted. That evening, as she was on her way home on a bus, she heard Moideen had gone missing in the Iruvazhinchi River.🍀

It was raining heavily.🌸11/16 Image
That rain-drenched evening a canoe accident in which the craft overturned in the river. A person who had saved several passengers drowned in the whirls of the river. It took 3 days to fish out body & identify it as the remains of Moideen.

No their love didn't fail frndz.🌻12/16 Image
Just before his death, Moideen had set up a village centre to empower destitute women.

Moideen published Sports Herald a Malayalam magazine.

Kanchana didnt get to see his body, there was no one to accompany her to his house & the decomposed body was buried in a hurry.🌺🌸13/16 Image
Following his death, Kanchana tried to end her life.
However, she started living again.

Moideen’s mother Fathima asked her to come & live in his home. “She told me: ‘U can’t die. We hv many things to do. We hv to continue the work Moideen began.’
Work for the society.🌺 14/16 Image
Kanchana now runs institution & library of 10000 books. BP Moideen Seva Mandir a charitable org homelss shelter, a family counselling centre & a blood donors network.A centre that provides children wid swimming classes for free.
Is this not a real Kerala Story frndz? 🌺🌷15/16 ImageImage
Based on their love movie "Ennu Ninte Moideen" 2015.

Society which hails their Love now, made them suffer in pain. It was the 1950s,now 2023.

Ending with a song. Dont understand a single word yet listening last 10-11 yrs. Found Love in it which makes us human.

His father was a municipal sweeper. He studied, rose & became a lawyer.
In Aug 2021 when released on 1 wk interim bail, he wore his black coat & went straight to the sessions court to sing his story.

He, Adv Surendra Gadling & this is his Spirit. ✊🏾
7yrs in jail. No trial.🧵1/11
Born at the bottom of the social pyramid, Surendra Gadling paid for his education by teaching others. An apprenticeship in the Railways opened the door to a secure job & pension.

He chose instead to serve the poor & the marginalised - those the state treats as disposable. 🧵2/11 Image
Using music & theatre, Surendra took Dalit rights naming India’s ancient pillar of injustice. He was one of the founders of Awhan Natya Manch’ organised cultural evenings in Nagpur's slums.

He defended poor Dalits & Adivasis, arbitrarily booked by the state without fees. 3/11 Image

THE LAST FAST.
This land had never seen before, refugees on both sides walking a blade so sharp swallowing their loved ones.

Gandhi was in Delhi since Sept. Freedom fighter Shafi Ahmed Kidwai death in Mussoorie riot while trying to bring peace had devastated his wife Anis.🧵1/17 Image
Anis Kidwai came to Delhi & met Gandhi. Gandhi told her until a Muslim child is able to walk outside without fear, he could not leave Delhi.

1000s of visitors were meeting Gandhi with similar or worse traumas. Hearing them, He had been overwhelmed by a sense of impotence. 2/17 Image
However, the West was also calling. In Sept 1947, Lahore civil servant Brijlal Nehru wrote to Gandhi ‘This vicious cycle, only you can break it.’
18 Sept, Gandhi in a gathering said he'll go to Pak "I shall be glad to die there" but only after Delhi shed its madness. 3/17 Image

And he was very partner & promoter both. He himself confirmed it in his interview with @ndtv, @htTweets & others. 2/15 Image
From 2016 Vivek Oberoi aggressively promoted the Karrm Infrastructure through using the media platforms & this is going on even today.

Be that his 2017 announcement to gift flats to the 25 CRPF martyred Jawans in Sukma or gifting home to an acid attack victim. All Fraud. 3/15

The only thing that Hindu Rashtra offers it's Hindu subject is - the circus of minority suffering. Modi model knew a formal ammendment would be struck down. So they simply rule it as if India is a Hindu Rashtra without declaring it.
But How?
Dr Ambedkar explained it.
Stay.🧵1/7 Image
