Paul's foresight of the coming Fremen Jihad and his inability to prevent the avalanche of violence he's forced to set in motion is the WHOLE FUCKING POINT of Dune, Dune: Messiah, and Children of Dune.

The more powerful Paul becomes, the fewer choices he has.

Jesus tap dancing Christ. Who is writing these articles?

Paul is backed into a corner. He can save what's left of his family and watch his adopted army set fire to the known universe, or let his House die.

That's the choice his powers give him. And he chooses to live.
And he ultimately regrets that choice. He walks into the desert a blind hermit, only to emerge years later as a street crazy preaching against his legacy and cursing anyone who follows him.

I'm begging you not to let people who didn't read the books write about the books.

"Old" Star Trek doesn't look "Woke" today because the civil rights battles it fought were won so decisively, so overwhelmingly, that nobody questions if it was right or not anymore.

And in 50 years, the "Woke" Star Trek of today will seem just as tame and mundane.
But make no mistake. In the context of the time, og Star Trek was controversial As Fuck. A fully integrated senior crew with Russian, Asian, and black woman officers set in a future society evolved beyond money or material wealth?

In the 60's? Are you kidding me?
PLENTY of people thought Kirk and company were "forcing diversity" down their throats. PLENTY of people complained about the themes of racial, social, and economic justice. They just didn't have YouTube and Twitch channels.

They look like absolute fools today.

There's been a lot of ink spilled over "Deep Fake" tech after Ryan Reynods was impersonated with it for a Tesla ad (please sue them, Ryan). The image quality was crude, but the tech will only improve, and rapidly.

And that's more dangerous than anyone realizes. 1/
So far, most of the public conversation around the potential abuse of deep fake AI tech has centered around public figures, politicians, celebrities, athletes, these sorts of people being made to "endorse" products or ideologies they don't.

This is not the danger. 2/
Public figures are recorded constantly from multiple angles. It would be difficult to take public remarks or speeches and manipulate them in a way the original won't be available to refute the fake.

Private citizens are a very different story, and ha e little defense. 3/

Over the last ten months, we have been SWATTed 37 times.

I was handcuffed naked on our front porch at 1am with half a dozen guns pointed at my head.

My wife walked down our steps to face 6 officers stacked up behind a ballistic shield and assault rifles.

It's attempted murder.
Officers have come at all hours of the day and night. Sometimes multiple times per day. Even the calls that go well are a disruption to our work, our sleep, our down time. We can never fully relax even in our own home.

And then there are the calls that go wrong.
We've stared down the barrels of pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles more times than maybe anyone outside of the military or law enforcement.

We've had the police who are supposed to protect us from criminals instead leap to do their bidding. Our home repeatedly invaded.

Many of you have followed our SWATTing ordeal over the last 10 months, but the larger stalking campaign against us has been so, so much worse and more insidious than we've publicly spoken about.

If you've been along for this ride, you know my wife and I's home has been SWATTed by obsessed cyberstalkers 33 times. These criminals gather at new.onaforums.net, a website dedicated exclusively to their all-consuming fixation on trying to destroy our lives. 2/
What you didn't know is these criminals have been blasting us with harassing texts and voice-mails from literally thousands of spoofed phone numbers, dozens of times every day, for almost 5 years.

Among these threatening messages have been promises to SWAT our families. 3/
