The Ukrainian military did not enter Russia's Belgorod Oblast during the operation of Russian volunteers, reported the New York Times with reference to a senior Ukrainian official.
According to him, the Ukrainian military played a supporting role in the operation: they defended Ukraine's border in case of a Russian counterattack. At the same time, no Ukrainian soldiers entered Russian territory.
On May 23, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that they had allegedly crushed and pushed back the volunteers into Ukrainian territory. According to Moscow, they allegedly lost more than 70 of their fighters, four armored personnel carriers and five off-road vehicles.
However, according to a NYT source, although the volunteers have suffered losses, they are not substantial so as to affect the group's combat capability.

The "Russian volunteer corps" claimed that they had no losses during the operation in Belgorod Oblast.

The State Bureau of Investigation has pressed treason charges against one of the leaders of the 501st Separate Marine Brigade, whose actions caused 277 soldiers to be taken prisoner during the defense of Mariupol, reported the State Bureau of Investigation.
Since the end of February 2022, the military of this brigade had been defending Mariupol. In April of the same year, Russian propagandists spread information that the marines of the 501st Brigade had allegedly voluntarily surrendered in the besieged city.
According to the investigation, the head of the logistics service of the 501st Brigade betrayed his oath and sided with the enemy.

Investigators note that the 277th brigade received an order to relocate, but in fact, they were transferred to the occupied part of Donetsk Oblast.

In the early hours of May 16, an air raid alert was declared in all regions of Ukraine. A series of explosions occurred in the capital at around 3:00 a.m. Debris fell in several districts of the capital, including the territory of the zoo. There are victims.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expects that during the July summit of the Alliance, the allies will express their readiness to continue to help Ukraine and accept it into NATO in the future, writes Ukrinform.

The United States has reprogrammed its HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, which it gave to Ukraine, so that they could not be used to fire long-range missiles into Russian territory, @WSJ reported with reference to unnamed US officials.
According to the newspaper, the Biden Administration says that this is a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of war between Washington and Moscow.

Since June, the United States has transferred 20 HIMARS systems and a large number of missiles to them with a range of ~80 km.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces use them to strike Russian ammunition and fuel depots, as well as command posts and equipment storage bases in the occupied territories.

But the units transferred to Ukraine have a unique function that does not allow them to become even more powerful.
