A Fixed Heart!

What does the future hold? We can’t be certain beloved! The use of the phrase, that the only certainties in life are death and taxes goes back to the 1700’s!

Only God knows the future!

What will you do when faced with adversity?

Our hearts must be prepared in the Lord! We must know without doubt that no matter what lies ahead He will walk with us through it!

There is nothing we will have to face alone! A person who trusts in Him doesn’t have to fear!

Psalm 112:7
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

Are you a fearful person? Do you tend toward anxiety? The Word tells us over and over not to fear!

Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I Am with thee: be not dismayed; for I Am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.

Isaiah 44:8
Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it ? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside Me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

For many years I dealt with a spirit of fear!

I had severe panic attacks that produced every symptom that my mind could imagine! The enemy used these symptoms to make me think I was dying! It was a time of great trial and testing for me!

Beloved, it was His Word that helped me past this time! Knowing that my life is in His hands! He has set the number of my days!

When these attacks would come upon me I would quote scriptures of reassurance to myself, and aloud so the enemy would hear that I was trusting in the Lord!

There are times the enemy will try to attack me in this way again, but I am not ignorant of his schemes. I rebuke him in Jesus Name, and I remind him and myself of God’s promises!

God ordained our steps even before we were born!

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Job tells us that God knows the precise time of our death!

Job 14:5
Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with Thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass.

Beloved we are also told not to fear those who can kill our body!

Our bodies are temporal, just like the time we have on this earth, but our souls are eternal!

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

He promises to give us the strength we need for each day! He promises to keep us through the trial! Not from the trial, but through it, from beginning to end!

Deuteronomy 33:25
Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

When we wait on Him and trust Him, He will renew our strength!

Isaiah 40:29-31
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Remember the faith in the face of fear and death of those we read about in His Word! Daniel faced the lions, the Hebrew children faced the fiery furnace, and so many more. Just read Hebrews 11 and see their faith!

We are told since we have such a cloud of witnesses as these we should not grow weary, but keep our hearts and our eyes fixed on Him to the very end!

Hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross.

Beloved, no matter what lies ahead, determine now that you will trust Him, and not be afraid! He knows what’s coming and He will walk with us!
