In honor of the Queen of Rock's death, a video thread. First up, from the Princes Trust Rock Gala 1987. Lemme tell ya, the energy went to a whole new level when this lady entered from stage left. I wore out the VHS tape I had.
This one I've only discovered tonight, gonna watch it on the Roku instead of the laptop. All I can say is, how did she keep her voice all these years? How did she keep dancing like that as long as she did?
This song didn't sell well at all when it came out. Unbelievable. I loved it the moment I heard it. It's a classic now, a marvelous song, everything about it.
And no thread of Tina songs would be complete without this one. I love all of her songs but I will always have a special place for this one in my heart.
Donovan Marcelle performing with his idol*, Tina Turner
*okay, not that kind of idol, sheesh
One last video. Live from Wembley in 2000. So many of my favorites. I hope you enjoy this one and the rest of the thread, too. Au revoir, Tina. May you rest in peace.
