@abikedabiri, a prominent Nigerian politician and former member of the Nigerian National Assembly and NIDCOM boss found herself at the center of a Social Media misrepresentation involving Indonesia.

Known for her outspoken nature and strong advocacy for the rights of Nigerians abroad, her outburst was misconstrued as a blanket accusation of Nigerians in Indonesia.

It started on the 17th of October, 2022 when she came on Twitter to give an update to a situation between

Africans and Indians in the Delhi area.

She clarified the claim and that would have put an end to it until a certain individual with the name tag ‘aggressively obidient-avoid me’ upended the apple cart and said “Go to Indonesia and see how they are treating Nigerians there.”

The fellow also called the NIDCOM chairman mumu while disparaging the highest office in the land, he claimed that Hon. Dabiri works for a failed government. Nobody saw anything wrong with that apparently.

However, Hon. Dabiri just returned from Indonesia on that day, she was on a diplomatic visit and had gone to plead for leniency in the case of 21 Nigerians who were on the death row for drug trafficking.

Remember that the case of the initial tweet was about Delhi, India. Why was the counter tweet about Indonesia and claiming passiveness on the side of the diaspora organization boss?

Ode – Yoruba for fool or a foolish person is as much a description of a state of mind rather than an insult. You cannot disparage all of the offices that matter in the country that has only done its best to smoothen relationships with other sovereign nations

and expect that you will get a pat on the back or a kiss on the cheek. No, you won’t!
