...some are siblings, children, and parents. And over ten years ago, I walked the very streets that are in that video. Not only did I experience the streets of Philadelphia but also Portland Oregon. Ya see, sometimes when faced with problems such as addiction....
...the best idea you can have is to run. So addiction brought me all over this country. The funny part about running away from yourself is that you always find out that there you still are when you get to that new place.

Bro.. I'm going to tell a story I think parallels what some of our kids are going through today.. and I know you can relate to.

In 1996, I was a 15 year old kid.. popular, good at sports.. with a lower middle-class family in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
In hindsight, with adult eyes.. I look back at that kid and know now that he was affected by generations of physical, verbal, and sexual disfunction and abuse from well before his time. That child ended up being uncomfortable in his skin and could feel alone in a room...
..full of people. This small example I want to show is just the start of what ended up being a spiral into drug addiction, shame, guilt, and remorse that would alter his, and every life around him forever. (Yes, I'm still talking about me) in that year, 1996..
