Hispanics outscoring blacks on standardized tests is old news. But people keep pointing to the supposedly highly selected nature of African and Caribbean immigration and so might be surprised by the results.

You probably have noticed that a lot of successful Silicon Valley entrepreneurs have been supporting right-wing candidates and causes. Why is this happening? And how much will these individuals shape the future of our politics? I wrote about it here. richardhanania.com/p/understandin…
Left-wing academics have called this "TESCREAL." Andreessen has trolled these types by putting the acronym in his bio. This concept is sort of silly, but with Elon buying Twitter, him and Sacks supporting DeSantis, etc, something is definitely happening.
Tech is the most common industry among my readers, which makes sense only if you think TESCREAL gets at something real. Since TESCREAL looks and sounds ugly, we can call this group the Tech Right, both because they're in tech and technology is fundamental to their worldview.
"For most people, saying blacks commit a lot of crime and we should talk about it more is not a smart career move. For someone in my position, it’s apparently the path to success."
Like them or not, Trump's critics have been the bravest members of the Republican Party over the last few years. Every incentive has been to submit to this man. This is why DeSantis has a shot and Liz Cheney doesn't. Right-wing brains melted by partisanship can't comprehend that
Sorry, blocking anyone who doubts that Liz Cheney is brave. I don’t even like Liz Cheney, but if you doubt this your brain has been so rotted by conservative grievance culture you’re beyond hope. May make exceptions for people I know.
Pretty shocked by the language here. When they arrest a sitting governor, it’s important for our leaders to behave professionally so people maintain faith in the system.
To be fair, what kind of male wouldn’t want to be groped by Governor Whitmer?
Very interesting things are happening on the LGBT front of the culture war. Why are conservatives suddenly leading successful boycotts and banning trans healthcare for minors? I argue that, as I predicted, regime change at Twitter has played a major role🧵richardhanania.com/p/the-lgbt-dia…
You have Bud Light and Target, and 16 states restricting gender affirming care in 2023 alone. It's probably not a coincidence that conservatives started getting good at boycotts at the exact moment there was a regime change at Twitter.
It has to be understood that liberal success on LGBT issues was a natural consequence of conservatives rhetorically granting the principles of gay and trans equality. Even under Bush, national Republicans already were unwilling to say anything negative about homosexuality.
I've seen some people say that the Anti-Homosexuality Act from Uganda simply defines "aggravated homosexuality" as pertaining to various categories of rape. But the March version of the bill I've found shows that's not true.🧵
According to media reports, you get the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality." That includes rape, but also things that are clearly not rape. For example, if you drug someone and commit sex acts, you are guilty, which is definitely a kind of rape.
But it also includes gay sex with anyone who is disabled. How do you define "disabled"? Basically anyone with a physical or mental impairment. Someone in a wheelchair would qualify, even if they were able to consent.
The professor himself has to pay half the amount going to the wife.
“Ms. Sano sent him affectionate notes and accompanied him on trips to France, Italy and Spain, both while she was under his supervision and after graduation.”
What a poor, poor victim, this woman in her mid-20s who got taken on European vacations.
