What is happening in Spain? In 2019, PSOE and Podemos formed a coalition government. PSOE is like the Labour party, while Podemos is a party that was born out of the 15M movement (Occupy). Together they were "the most progressive government in history", or so they claimed...
🧵
Podemos came to power thanks to the left-wing and feminist vote. And what happened? The equality minister, @IreneMontero, decided to focus on identity politics, in particular her Trans Law, allowing self-ID, the transition of minors, and establishing heavy fines for "transphobia"
@IreneMontero also brought out the antipunitivist Solo Sí es Sí law ("Only yes means yes"). What's the consequence of such law? So far, 1,179 reduced convictions for sexual offenders and 108 rapists released from prison.

Montero has consistently insulted and belittled the feminist movement. We are called TERFs and fascists by the people we voted in. Feminist politicians like Carmen Calvo have been punished for opposing queer theory & the Trans Law. You may remember her ⬇️

The most progressive government in history has spent 3 years busy with PR - no substance. The working class is no better off today: people are not making ends meet, energy companies run the country, betting shops are everywhere, and Blackstone is the biggest landlord in Spain.
We said it many times: #FeminismoNoVotaTraidores Feminism does not vote for traitors. Lots of wonderfully brave women have been campaigning against Podemos and their misogynistic laws for years, facing threats & violence.

This is at the Senate ⬇️
Yesterday there were elections in some regions and cities. Turnout was lower, blank and null votes higher. Centrists have left PSOE for PP (Conservatives). Podemos is DEAD - having lost a total of 32 seats in the 12 regions where elections were held, they are left with 11.
The results at local level are significant too. Ada Colau, a friend of Podemos and the pimp lobby, is no longer the mayor of Barcelona. A woman claiming to be a feminist, leaves behind a city where women can’t speak about their rights.
We are back to a game between 2 parties with one difference: Vox, a fascist party, is getting bigger. Because in Spain telling a man he can't go into the women's changing room can get you a €150k fine, but this is totally ok, no laws introduced to stop it

Conclusion: you can’t get elected claiming left-wing and feminist values, and expect no consequences when you work against your voters.

@sanchezcastejon, the Prime Minister, has brought the elections forward to 23rd July.
