Angst II Hurt II No comfort

Taehyung calls Yoongi. It's late at night but he needs to hear the rapper’s voice. The voice he longs to hear everyday.

He didn't want Yoongi to find the news this way. He wanted to tell Yoongi himself. But his fate always had something else in mind, so why would this instance

be any different.

Fate and love have always been cruel to him, mercilessly beating his innocent heart since he could remember falling in love. It was never an option, falling in love, falling in love with Yoongi.

Was it his cruel fate that his hyung never truly loved him? Or was it his inability to make him fall in love? Is he lacking? Wish Yoongi would tell him. Tae wishes Yoongi would love him back. He wishes Yoongi would let him love him.

He wishes…he wishes…he wishes & wishes…..

Taehyung wanted to tell Yoongi that his boyfriend had asked him to marry him. He wanted to tell Yoongi face to face, while looking at his eyes, meeting his gaze, so that he could gauge the rapper's reaction.

For the last time, Taehyung had hoped that Yoongi would let it slip, there will be an opening to his heart, and Taehyung will have a glimpse of Yoongi’s true feelings. If Yoongi had any feelings for him, if ever Yoongi had loved him, if Yoongi still feels something for him…

something… anything…

But alas he lost the opportunity. Someone has already leaked the information, someone has released his personal photos with his boyfriend: the moment when his boyfriend got down on his knees and proposed to him to marry him and Taehyung had started to cry.

Taehyung had cried, his boyfriend had thought that he was so happy that he started crying. But it was far from the truth. Taehyung had cried because it was not Yoongi. Taehyung had cried because he will never have the man he loves.

In his already beaten and broken heart he still dreamed that perhaps, one day he will get to be with Yoongi. One day…the day will never come.

Taehyung hasn't said yes, he wanted to ask Yoongi first, if he should say yes. But the media has published the news with photos that the couple is engaged and it has put him and his boyfriend in an awkward position.

Taehyung is feeling anxious as he calls Yoongi, waiting with bated breaths as the phone keeps on ringing but Yoongi doesn't pick up.

Taehyung redials and again it gets unanswered. He thinks he should go to his place and talk to Yoongi.

But he calls him again. And it's ringing.

Ringing…

Ringing…

"Taehyung-ah"

Yoongi's voice comes up broken, shaken and Taehyung can feel the heartbreak from the voice. Or is it his imagination running wild. So he doesn't want to assume anything, he needs to hear it from Yoongi.

"Yoongi hyung.." Taehyung exhales deeply, trying to calm his nerves. He wanted to hear the elder’s voice so, so much that his eyes get teary but he cannot let Yoongi hear him cry. Not again.

"Hyung, I wanted to talk…"

"Congratulations Taehyung-ah."

Taehyung was not able to finish what he wanted to say, he gets cut off by Yoongi. It makes Taehyung stop whatever he wanted to say, hands feeling cold, tongue heavy, tears dried and his heart, his broken heart feels numb.

"I didn't want to…" but he tires, tires again, but alas, Yoongi doesn't give him a chance. Like always, never giving him the chance.

"I am so happy for you Taehyung-ah, I'm glad you are finally making this decision and moving on. How long are you going to wait for this old man..hahaha..your boyfriend is a good man, he takes care of you, I really hope in the future too, he will take care of you."

Yoongi finishes without taking any breath.

Taehyung's heart is clenching, it feels like his ribs are going to crush on itself, pressing and squeezing the heart, blood vessels feel like it's going burst open from the pressure of his heart getting crushed.

Everything stops flowing and he feels his legs are giving up on him. He is falling.

Is this what heart break feels like? Still now? Even after all these years? Why everytime it's the same. Why couldn’t he feel the pain a little less from the last time?

He thought after so many years he would get used to this, but no, he still feels the same, he still feels his heart is getting broken all over again.

Tears start to gather in his eyes and without him wanting it, it starts to spill, wetting his cheeks. But he would not let Yoongi hear him cry even if it kills him. So he blinks silently to shed the tears from his eyes.

There is nothing else to say, except, "Thank you hyung. I just called to hear you say that."

Taehyung hangs up.

Now he can cry.

A desperate soul...

Cannot let go...

It's always been love..
