We have to go beyond being 'analysts of doom'! In this piece you can engage with critical reflections of what academic activism means, in the climate and ecological emergency. Read it, share your own experiences, give it to people who are not yet on the frontlines!
Those who possess privileged access to cutting-edge science on the consequences of anthropogenic practices are expected to remain bound by those same norms/institutions that have not been able to make any decisive interventions in the global ecological crisis 💀
Activism does not 'replace' research—if anything, it enhances it with a stubbornly realistic reflection on what science and knowledge production can mean.
In our article, activists reflect on their roles and the spectrum of activism. Not every body can be in the street, and intersectional power relations are even more acute for activists. SR is committed to equity and inclusion; much work to be done there.
