Majority of those who are “against the war” are only against it because this war is fcking embarrassing for them. Only a tiny % of those are willing to acknowledge they live in a rotten, fascist society and admit they are aggressors. Anyone who hasn’t can fck off
THIS is exactly what happens when you scratch the surface of 99.9% of “no war” russians. Those who believe in the myth of reasonable russians are disillusioned. Imperialism is the core of this culture, and we should stop pretending it can just go away overnight
This is also why we don’t see any of the 100s of thousands of russian “tourists” abroad protesting. They don’t really mean it. They are just uncomfortable. Yes, there are exceptions. Yes, I know “good russians”. But I can count those on one foot

I had an encounter with a neighbor today. He’s an elderly gent who owns a 260sq m apartment in the centre of the city, worth a fortune, he dons a pinkie ring and is very proud to be one of the few people in Kyiv centre with not one but two (!!🙄) working fireplaces, a luxury
which our local council now forbids for many obvious reasons. He was picking up some post and complained under his breath about “how things were more efficient in Soviet Union”. I stopped and asked if he could sell his apartment for a million dollars in Soviet Union. He said no,
but “back in the day the top of the crop writers painters and party leaders were living here, and now it’s just.. *slow gaze at me*. So I asked, did you purchase this apartment? He said no, his father was a great soviet general and he got this apartment from the party for his

A quick-build house built for a family in Moshchun village (Kyiv region), the entire village is almost completely destroyed. This house was built by a local church in just under 1 month! Ukraine will rebuild faster than katsaps can get a pot hole repaired. twitter.com/i/web/status/1… Image
Here is another one in Irpin.. built in about a month and cost about as much as an average car 💪 these are projects in villages, built on the very land where people lost their homes. twitter.com/i/web/status/1… Image
Kyiv region is buzzing with reconstruction, dozens if not 100s of international orgs helping people return to their homes. There is something very fresh in the air 🍃🍃

18 hours without power now, I’m on the verge of dipping uncooked pasta into mayonnaise 😂 #odesa
We will probably get power very soon for about 1.5 hours, and my wash cycle is 1 hour 20 minutes, so I’ve set up the washing machine and literally sitting next to it so I can gun straight for “daily cotton” with a chance of making it 😂
Same exercise but with stew today. waiting for power any second (it’s been off for 14 hrs) and off I run trying to dump all the ingredients in there and cook smth up in 1.5 hours 😂 ready.. set.. Image

Donetsk residents are complaining that Russians are shelling Donetsk from Donetsk again. Pukin is a master of self-terror so this is hardly surprising. (dill = Ukrainians, a slur in Russian, “ukrop”)
Here is a video from August - outgoing & incoming artillery in Enerhodar. Same story

A lot of lovely people are offering me places to stay in Europe. I am Dutch/Ukrainian, my parents live in the Netherlands, I have lived in 12 countries in my life and for the past 8 years in Israel. I was born in Ukraine but only moved to Kyiv in 2021 during Covid. I can get on a
train and go anywhere I want. But there is absolutely nowhere else I want to be. There is energy in the air I have never experienced before, maybe at insane music festivals. Unity, love, motivation, determination, anxiety, fear, bliss, the whole bouquet of human emotions
It is well scary a lot of the time, but the energy of war society compensates for it 100x. On top of that, Kyiv is one of the most comfortable cities I have ever lived in, and I grew up in all the fancy capitals you can name. I write this as I sit in my bathtub because something

Air raid alert in Kyiv. After being woken up every hour by explosions last night, I haven’t properly slept for a while, I was hoping to have a full night’s sleep tonight. Oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️
Apparently dozens of Iranian Shahed drones flying over us right now. I don’t hear any, and I never have yet, but people say they sound like mopeds in the sky Image
Ok here we go. Air defence working. It’s bloody loud 💥
