Luckily, you can turn ChatGPT into a FREE therapist.

Here's how to use ChatGPT to improve your mental health:

Step 1: Enable ChatGPT to talk

• Visit the Chrome Web Store (chrome.google.com/webstore/categ…)

• Search for "Talk to ChatGPT"

• Select "Talk-to-ChatGPT" and add the extension to Chrome

Step 2: Train ChatGPT to be a therapist

• Visit ChatGPT (chat.openai.com)

• Switch to GPT-4 if you have it (otherwise, GPT-3.5 works fine)

• Train ChatGPT to be a world-class therapist by using the prompt below (copy/paste the ALT text in the image) ↓

Step 3: Prepare the 1:1 talking session

• Press "Start" on the Talk-to-ChatGPT widget in the top right corner

• Press the settings icon

• Set the AI voice to the language you prefer (for English speakers — "Tessa (en-ZA)" has my favorite accent)

Step 4: Talk through your problems

• Begin talking about what's on your mind

• You can choose to either text or speak to ChatGPT, or "Dr. Tessa"

• Dr. Tessa will facilitate the free therapy session in a thoughtful, empathetic manner (with a lovely South African accent) 🔊

While AI can never replace human to human connection, ChatGPT is a fantastic therapy alternative for many reasons:

• It's free
• It's easy to access
• It's more logical than most humans
• There's no fear of judgment from it
