@cta So the CTA did learn something after Night 1! At least, according to this guy they did
@cta Night 2 had 4 ‘extra’ Red line trains available instead of just the 1 planned on Night 1. These trains were staged at various center tracks south of Roosevelt. And for good reason! Passenger demand on the Red-North was again heavy last night, possibly even more than Night 1.
The @cta also leveraged a Harlem/Lake bound Green line as a ‘Loop Shuttle’, turning it left at Tower 18 (Lake/Wells) and diverting it southbound to Roosevelt for additional capacity between the Loop ‘L’ and an area of high passenger demand.
Passenger flow was again a huge issue again last night. #Swifties are smart, and resourceful - but navigational apps only show ‘primary entrances’ and they show everyone the same thing.
It could really benefit the crowd control to encourage use of both sides of Roosevelt Ave to access the Elevated for Orange/Green line trains, and divert some (or all) the Red Line traffic to use the subway entrance at State/Roosevelt, 1 block north.
IMO #ChicagoTSTheErasTour Night Two was significantly more efficient for Post-Show egress of the #Swifties. The @cta still didn’t fulfill their full schedule for the hours of 10pm to 1am, but it also didn’t take until 1am to be able to officially declare the event over.

Today @matt_weiss_ and I are going to attempt the unofficial @cta 'L' Challenge! The goal is to visit all 145 CTA stations as fast as possible. I'll be documenting the excursion via this Twitter thread, so check back here as we progress through the system! #MBLrun
Due to construction and station closures at Berwyn and Lawrence on the Red line, we will have doors open at 143 stations in the network. This will still qualify under Class A for the record keepers: bmcfadden.me/43DMMxa
We are officially underway at 09:10:00 exactly! Departing from Polk station on Pink Line Run #308, headed outbound towards 54th & Cermak! Scheduled Time: 09:09:30 #MBLrun

“We got our asses killed last night, so they actually got us some extra people tonight” - CTA Employee on site
North run #930 (one of the extras) just departed the center interlocking at 63rd, #932 soon to follow - clearly focusing on Northbound Red Line tonight!
