The BRS ‘phenomenon’ didn’t occur in a vacuum, much as Defence will try to pretend it did.

Everything they say and do is based not on what is true, or good for Aust, but what is good for them, and the Minister.

The Subs are Duds. We need a #DefenceRC urgently before the next… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
As one of the SAS withesses in the BRS case said, it’s well known, that medals are given out as a ‘political feel good’ event.
Donaldson was probably the exception, but once they saw the goodwill that flowed towards the leadership (and pollies) they got addicted to it.
One of the key pieces of evidence from the BRS trial, was that he wasn’t at the top of the short-list for the VC, but was elevated to the top by the staffers of the Minister. He was media ‘gold’, and they wanted him, because he bought them kudos. It’s seems incredibly cynical.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
That’s one of the reasons that it was so hard to bring BRS down, because the staffers and CDF knew that if he went down, he would take them with him.
So as a ‘compromise’ in 2013 they went looking for SAS scapegoats, who actually were just defending themselves in the fog of war.
It’s sounds pretty sick, and hard to believe because it is.
And that’s why I’m prepared to go to jail to ‘kill this dragon’.
While whether it’s true or not will depend on a study of the detailed facts, ask any journo or political staffer the following:
Regardless of the facts in this case, is it possible that the Govt would cover up the crimes of a famous soldier, and then look for scapegoats?
In 2012 the war was still going and Aust troops were still there. Kicking it down the road was a logical PR tactic.
But I got caught in the middle, as I could see ‘something strange’ was happening with the ‘2013 scapegoats’, and ignored allegations against BRS.
I became the… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Hurley is every bit as culpable in my mind. A political animal, he thought nothing of giving the minister whatever the Ministers staff wanted, either a hero, or a villain. Facts didn’t matter. He was rewarded for it afterwards.
I believed he did more damage to truth in the ADF… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
In next months more snippets of truth will emerge, and slowly the noose will close around those who drove the war in a PR direction rather than war fighting.

After years of saying ‘we were winning’, the Taliban returned.
Someone lied.
Lies about Afghan got people re-elected, sure.
But the long term cost to the Defence of this country is yet to be determined, and it could be fatal.
Pretty lies may win elections but they don’t win wars.

They destroy armies.

We need truth.

The big question that will sink David Hurley and Stephen Smith is this: if you didn’t hear the rumours about BRS in 2012, why did you change the RoE and start talking about ‘murder’ charges?

Nothing else happened in 2012. No criminal investigations started.
Hastie complained.
It will be hilarious to see what the Defence Dept try to remove from the ‘open’ BRS judgement today.

I’m betting it’s anything that suggests they promoted him over others, ignored complaints against him, or had warnings.

That is anything that could be seen as blaming them.
The Defence Dept are quite shameless in how they pretend things that harm the Min’s or CDF’s reputation, are somehow ‘national security’.

It would be nice to see a few more journos question the definition. But of course they can’t really because… it’s ‘Nat Sec’.

But is it?

With all the ‘drones’ in the air that have provided footage it seems ridiculous.
At the same time they start cracking down after BRS has ‘left the building’ in 2012.
Chris Masters was embedded with SOTG. He clearly knew.
But apparently the Generals ‘knew absolutely nothing’ 🤔.
It’s very convenient that they only heard the rumours in about 2015, long after they’d withdrawn, and then from a Canberra ‘sociologist’, who’s on the Govt payroll.

It’s just a coincidence that delay helped the US war effort.

Even though Hastie complained

I was ‘inconvenient’
In ‘No Front Line’ Chris Masters states he saw drone footage of a soldier being ‘blown over a wall’ in 2012.

That proves all Ops were filmed.

Why didn’t they question things that Brereton has since called ‘likely murders’?

The Generals either knew, or were totally incompetent

Defence: ‘Evidence that could show the Gen David Hurley covered up war crimes must be kept secret from the public because it’s release could ‘greater endanger our National Security’. !?

For ‘National Security’ read ‘job security’.

I didn’t lose the Afghan war. @rodrigoac7
ASIS says: “Revealing that we helped overthrow a democratically elected popular leftist Govt, and replaced it with a Dictatorship that murdered thousands, committing Crimes against Humanity; would endanger ‘national security’

Read: shows ASIS prefers dictatorships over democracy
ASISs overthrow of Allende, to install Pinochet, a byword for everything that Aust should be fighting against, sums them up.

They fight against democracy, both home and abroad. And they try to hide it.

I spent months looking the paper trail of Gen Hurley’s dealings with the MINDEF.

What I found was a man who was 180 degrees from what he pretended to be: his image was a ‘stoic soldier, committed to the job’.

The reality was a scared little man who was driven by self-interest
There was a clear pattern with everything Hurley ruled over: camouflage everything with ‘whiter than white’ guidelines. Pray a lot, in public. Speak quietly, like a man of God.
Then, behind closed doors, do the exact opposite. Despite being head of the ADF, and having no reason not to defend his people from the criticism from the MINDEF, let alone his 20 y.o. ‘advisors’, he never did. Just threw ‘em under a bus. If the MINDEF wanted. They were ‘gone’

As long as the US rules us there will never be freedom for those who love truth and justice.
Daniel Hale is a hero. His only crime was to reveal that the US’s ‘War on Terror’ was itself an act of terror.
There is no greater honour than to be imprisoned by a vicious regime for revealing the truth of that regime to the world.
