Nāga-hasta-kampana (नागहस्तकम्पन) is mentioned in Hindu scriptures, specifically in tantric and Purāṇic texts related to nāga-sādhana (serpent deity worship) and certain Śākta-Śaiva āgamas.

A detailed thread about the Primary Sources Where It Appears👇🏼

1. Mantra-Mahodadhi (मन्ट्रमहोदधि)
- Authored by Mahīdhara (16th century), a major tantric compendium.
- In Taranga 16 (Nāga-taranga), while describing the rituals for subduing or invoking powerful nāgas (especially Vāsuki, Takṣaka, etc.), the text mentions

2+
nāga-hasta-kampana mudrā.
- It is a specific hand gesture (mudrā) in which the sādhaka trembles or vibrates the hands in a serpent-like waving motion while chanting nāga-bīja mantras (e.g., “nagaṃ”, “vauṣat”, etc.). This is done to awaken kuṇḍalinī in the form of

🪨✨ Before Ajanta… before Ellora… there was Barabar.
Hidden in the granite hills of Bihar lies India’s oldest rock-cut caves, carved over 2,200 years ago, echoing the chants of forgotten monks and the genius of Mauryan craftsmanship.

A thread on the Barabar Caves 🧵👇

1/12 Image
📍Located near Jehanabad, about 24 km from Gaya, the Barabar and Nagarjuni hills house caves hewn from solid granite — perfectly polished and geometrically precise.
They are the earliest surviving rock-cut sanctuaries of India.

2/12 Image
👑 These caves were created under Emperor Ashoka (273–232 BCE) & his grandson Dasharatha Maurya, who dedicated them to the Ajivika sect, a contemporary ascetic movement alongside Buddhism and Jainism.

Ashoka’s inscriptions here reflect his tolerance and spiritual pluralism.

Thread 🧵: An Odia’s heart speaks when seeing this old image of Konark Mandir…

This old photograph of Konark Mandir shakes me to the core. Once called Konaditya, it was the crown jewel of Utkala - a Mandir where Surya himself was believed to ride his chariot of stone.

1+ Image
Built in the 13th century by Narasimhadeva I, Konark was not just another Mandir. It was a cosmic calendar, a celebration of art, science & spirituality carved in stone. Every wheel, every figure, every ray of the Sun found home here. But look closely at this photo, The grand

shikhara is gone. The majestic crown of Surya’s abode lies shattered. What remains is a wounded body, standing silent amidst the ruins.

Our chronicles, like Madala Panji, tell us of the 16th century - when invaders under Bengal’s Sultanate marched into Odisha. Their general,

January 11: The Prime Minister of India dies.
January 24: India’s top nuclear scientist vanishes.
Same month. Same mystery.
Lal Bahadur Shastri & Homi Jehangir Bhabha.

One poisoned in a Soviet villa.
One swallowed by French snow.

And a nation… too scared to ask why?

What if India’s greatest minds weren’t lost…
…but eliminated?

Let me lay out some facts.
No filters.
No fiction.

And then,
you decide.
You carry the question home.

Because some truths
don’t scream.
They whisper.
And they wait.

Thread 🧵: The Truth Behind Two Viral Photos from the 2002 Gujarat Riots

You've probably seen these two photos countless times.

One shows a man in saffron headgear wielding an iron rod. The other shows a terrified man pleading with folded hands.

They became the face of

1+ Image
the 2002 Gujarat riots in media across the world.

But here’s the actual context 👇

The man with the rod was Ravinder Parmar, a poor cobbler from Ahmedabad.

The other was Qutbuddin Ansari, a resident caught in the riot-affected Naroda Patiya area.

Their photos were used to

2+
depict a clear narrative: Hindus attacking Mooslims. But the reality wasn’t so black and white.

Ravinder Parmar hadn’t harmed anyone.

He had grown a beard after personal heartbreak and wore saffron to avoid being mistaken for a Mooslim during the volatile riots.

But.....
