2/ Here, Jefferson filmed a traffic stop from her car on a public street. That "apparently incensed the ... officer. He asked for her ID, which she gave him." Jefferson refused his direction to get out of her car. He then pulled her out and arrested her. mississippitoday.org/2023/06/11/lex…
3/ Nine days before LPD arrested Jefferson, Jefferson met with the Justice Department Civil Rights Division (CRT). CRT was meeting with community members about police brutality allegations. wtnh.com/news/ap-us-new…
We know EMMETT TILL's story, but what ever happened to ROY BRYANT, CAROL BRYANT, & J.W. MILAM - the monsters most involved w/Till's unspeakable murder?
Karma, that's what happened. Karma. Let's take a tour.
A quick thumbnail: Carolyn falsely accused Till of catcalling. Roy & JW then kidnapped him, beat him (so badly his eye popped from its socket), killed him, anchored him w/barbed wire to a 75lb gin fan, & scuttled him in the Tallahatchie.
Roy & JW were arrested. Locals turned against them until Drew, MS became the national white supremacy poster child. Then Drew circled the wagons. W/in a month, the two were tried found not guilty by their peers. life.com/history/the-mu…
🛑STOP the re-hiring of MYLES COSGROVE, the cop who killed BREONNA TAYLOR 🧵
Last Thursday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Dept hired MYLES COSGROVE, the former Louisville Metro Police Department detective who shot and killed BREONNA TAYLOR.
2. On March 13, 2020, Myles Cosgrove and six LMPD agents performed a no-knock raid at 3003 Springfield Drive No. 4 - home of Jefferson resident Breonna Taylor. louisville-police.org/DocumentCenter… (p. 257)
3. Cosgrove and his team refused to use LMPD body cameras during the raid. That meant two things: no independent record of the raid would exist; and, those most at risk from acts during the raid would also control its record.
In case anyone wants a recap of what happened Tuesday in regards to the police response. Here is the failure we know so far, with more to come out:
1/The armed school officer watched him enter the building, didn't stop him, and just sat and waited for backup.
2/They all waited 60 minutes before entering school while kids bled out, wasting golden hour and could have saved the lives of kids who were shot if they received medical attention in time.
