I’m at the NCGOP convention where Trump is speaking later. After the candidates for Chair gave speeches on election fraud, they moved to elect the Chair by voting via app.
Now the app is malfunctioning. People are shouting. Demands for paper ballots. It’s getting contentious!

The vote drags on. It looks as if the incumbent chair is going to win by 20+ points.
Some delegates are angry. One asks to nullify the vote. People around me high five. They’re told no.
Others raise concern they won’t finish the vice chair vote before Trump arrives. Chaos!

They’ve called it for the incumbent, Michael Whatley. But now there is a swift call for appeal. The delegates making the appeal say the vote cannot be trusted.

When they called it for the incumbent, a party official shouted in celebration, then ran out of the room.
Before, he had been animatedly arguing with two women who were insisting there were problems with the vote. They look disgusted.

Re the ticking Trump clock, it appears that they are going to punt the Vice Chair vote. It seems like there aren’t enough delegates in the room anyway - many left because the vote is taking so long. No quorum.
