It’s a Girls AU, in which Rey seduces her new step brother Ben.

I loved how strategic Rey was with her seduction, but with the underlying story of a streetwise 18-year-old girl seeking love, safety and shelter. It’s wonderful!

This is a fic that has never left my brain. Simply breathtaking meditation on power dynamics and switching. Rey is a surgeon by day and Exotic Dancer and Domme by night. Ben is her switch client.

Starts off so strong and still manages to packs an emotional punch at the end when their relationship comes to a head. Simply mellifluous. Just read it!

I love this version of Ben and Rey so much. I think about them often as well as that fateful peanut butter sandwich.

It’s the story that made me fall deeply in love with Penguin’s fics which, despite zero evidence to support this theory, feel like they were written specifically for me.

You ever just read something and go “damn, now this is writing!” This fic took me by surprise as it heavily features a personal squick for me (watersports).

In spite of this, I was deeply moved by the way the story illustrated a way of coping with and healing from trauma through kink and power dynamics. It heavily influenced me as a writer in terms of how I handle my characters’ emotional worlds and use smut as a driver for

character development. Though I am sad it’s incomplete, I’m still grateful for what the author was able to give us while they were writing it! I was completely sucked in by the incredible quality of the writing, as well as the immersive worldbuilding and cinematic feel it has.
