In California, the pro-affirmative action side outspent their opponents 19-1. Corporations, sports teams, etc supported the cause. Yet affirmative action barely even won LA County, got 51%, and went down in flames elsewhere. This is a loser for liberals. richardhanania.com/p/affirmative-… ImageImage

Supreme Court: Alabama's congressional districts are too white.

People don't realize the Voting Rights Act mandates racial tribalism in elections.

Whites in Alabama vote to Republican. If they were split between Democrats and Republicans, they could draw their districts however they want. But since they're Republicans, they have to give blacks another seat. This is a Lebanon-type system. ImageImage

Left-wing academics have called this "TESCREAL." Andreessen has trolled these types by putting the acronym in his bio. This concept is sort of silly, but with Elon buying Twitter, him and Sacks supporting DeSantis, etc, something is definitely happening. ImageImage
Tech is the most common industry among my readers, which makes sense only if you think TESCREAL gets at something real. Since TESCREAL looks and sounds ugly, we can call this group the Tech Right, both because they're in tech and technology is fundamental to their worldview. ImageImage

You have Bud Light and Target, and 16 states restricting gender affirming care in 2023 alone. It's probably not a coincidence that conservatives started getting good at boycotts at the exact moment there was a regime change at Twitter. Image
It has to be understood that liberal success on LGBT issues was a natural consequence of conservatives rhetorically granting the principles of gay and trans equality. Even under Bush, national Republicans already were unwilling to say anything negative about homosexuality. Image

I've seen some people say that the Anti-Homosexuality Act from Uganda simply defines "aggravated homosexuality" as pertaining to various categories of rape. But the March version of the bill I've found shows that's not true.🧵
According to media reports, you get the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality." That includes rape, but also things that are clearly not rape. For example, if you drug someone and commit sex acts, you are guilty, which is definitely a kind of rape. Image
But it also includes gay sex with anyone who is disabled. How do you define "disabled"? Basically anyone with a physical or mental impairment. Someone in a wheelchair would qualify, even if they were able to consent. Image
