You loved the thread last year, so here's Round 2 of asking a fan of every club with a Chelsea Loanee for a review of their season.

This time we’ve also added the youngsters Chelsea have recently signed, that can’t join til they are 18. 💫

Here we go: [A THREAD]🪡 Image
Gaga Slonina: 8/10

Slonina can become one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Had a breakout 2022, with club-record 12 clean sheets in 32 with Chicago Fire, who finished 2nd bottom.

He's the youngest ever GK to play for USMNT & had a great U20 World Cup, 4 clean sheets in 5. Image
Gaga Slonina: 8/10 (cont.)

A well-rounded, naturally gifted shot-stopper with terrific command of his area, his distribution has grown a lot with Chelsea.

Space to improve with decision-making & distribution; Gaga certainly has the talent & mentality to be a future Chelsea #1. Image
Eddie Beach: 7/10

Decent shot stopper. Long kicks need improving, but short-range excellent. Adjusted well physically, impressive out of U21s. Communication needs to improve.

Ofc not Chelsea level yet; League 2 loan would be ideal.

Conceded 24 in 20 games, with 2 pen saves. Image
Lucas Bergström: 7/10

Started like a train with match-winning performances. Form tailed off, which is expected in his 1st loan.

Massive at 6ft 9", but needs to use his height more. Distribution can improve.

He'll have a good career, I'm sure. Needs another loan, EFL or abroad. Image
Jamie Cumming: 9/10

Instrumental, without him we would’ve shipped an extra 30 goals. Won both Player's POTY & Fan's POTY.

Should aim for a Championship move.

Time has likely passed for a future at Chelsea, but could see him as a high level Champ to low level Prem goalkeeper. Image
Levi Colwill: 10/10

Initially benched by Potter, Colwill became a regular for us under De Zerbi.

Injuries prevented him from playing more, however there was a noticeable difference in our build up on the eye when Colwill played. Image
Levi Colwill: 10/10 (cont.)

Levi’s ability in the air is surprisingly good. Brentford (H) sticks out, winning 9/10 aerial duels vs Toney & his passing speaks for itself.

Undoubtedly Levi will be an England regular & is Chelsea level, but we’d love for him to stay at Brighton. Image
Henry Lawrence 6.5/10

Struggled for game time, constantly was swapped in & out of the squads. Needs a solid League 2/1 loan & some solid game time to match

I highly doubt there is a future at Chelsea, think he’ll only ever be a mid-table Champ player. Image
Malo Gusto: 5/10

Very overrated. Huge difficulties to defend, quite fast, but easily passed by an attacker.

First quality of a defender is to defend, not to cross the ball 20 times per game.

He’s good at crossing, which makes him popular, but he also loses the ball a lot. Image
Malo Gusto: 5/10 (cont.)

He's really offensive, always on other half of the pitch. Despite his pace, there's always space in his back.

He can do well in England, as you like offensive players, but his defending is very poor & he can't position himself to avoid quick transition. Image
Bashir Humphreys: 9/10

If he isn’t back next season, he’ll be missed.

Despite not speaking German, Bash was immediately a leader in the team & one of the first names in the XI.

Maturity was astounding in a very physical league; Bash matched it & took the challenge head on. Image
Bashir Humphreys: 9/10 (cont.)

Being able to use both feet as a defender is a rarity, so he really stood out. Played LCB in a 3, but also LWB.

What’s impressive is Bash was completely error-free, despite only being 20.

Definitely has Chelsea quality in the future. Image
Malang Sarr: 2/10

Played in 5th worst defence in Ligue 1 history. Not all his fault, but he didn’t help. Lost over half games he played.

Not good enough for Chelsea or Monaco, maybe a mid-table team in Prem.

No idea why we sold Badiashile mid-season, he would always save us. Image
Ian Maatsen: 10/10

EFL TOTS, Title Winner, POTM, vital piece of the most exciting & expansive team in league. Perfect loan spell.

His energy in our LB role was key, however defensive awareness can be poor.

Great player, better as LWB & that spot may be tough to claim at #CFC Image
Dujon Sterling: 9/10

A player who secured his RWB spot at Stoke this season.

He showed his attacking threat and defensive work-rate throughout.

Dujon became a fan favourite straight away. His move to Rangers is deserved and shows his future potential. Image
Ethan Ampadu: 8/10

Ampadu was Spezia's only signing worthy of Serie A this season.

He plays better as a defender, but easily plays in midfield. He's very good in the air, imposing himself in aerial duels.

He also gives great long balls, which create lots of goal opportunities. Image
Ethan Ampadu: 8/10 (cont.)

A flaw could be the excessive amount of yellow cards he gets.

Despite being on loan, he has shown great professionalism, always giving his best.

I think he deserves a chance at Chelsea & would do a brilliant job. Image
Baba Rahman - 3/10

After impressing last season, was disappointing to see a very capable player drop off so significantly.

At fault for a few goals & really struggled to perform at his usual standard.

Made just 6 appearances Dec-Feb, before his season was cut short to injury. Image
Tino Anjorin: N/A

His start to the season was incredible. Looked lively, dangerous & sharp, but couldn't do it for a full 90'.

We thought it would come with time, but after another injury has kept him out since December, it’ll likely be the last time we see him at Huddersfield. Image
Tino Anjorin: N/A (cont.)

I’d love a 46-game Tino Anjorin, but he’s too big of a risk with injuries.

Sensational footballer & incredibly technical, but too big a risk for clubs who need to use that Prem loan efficiently, which is unfortunate as he really gets you off your seat. Image
Cesare Casadei - 8/10

Took a couple games to get up to speed & adapt to the pace, but from that point he was easily one of our best players, with 2 POTM awards.

Dominant in the air, constantly winning the ball high up the pitch, superb vision, great determination & work rate. Image
Cesare Casadei: 8/10 (cont.)

He's shown his goalscoring at the U20 World Cup with 7G & 2A in 6 games. Won Player of the Tournament & the Golden Boot.

A loan to a low Prem team would be ideal. Won't be long til he’s regularly involved with 1st team at Chelsea. Image
Tiémoué Bakayoko: 0/10

Only played 3 games, 39 mins together. Came off bench & provided nothing but energy.

Hard to judge attributes without thinking of him at Monaco, 6 years ago.

He always give away the ball, struggles to dribble past anyone & looks a headless chicken. Image
Kendry Páez: 9/10

In February Kendry started a senior game as a 15 year old, scored & the rest was history.

Technically, Kendry is other-worldly for a 16 year old. An eye for a pass (2.8 key passes p90), excellent 1v1s, very decent finisher, he has it all. Image
Kendry Páez: 9/10 (cont.)

Captained U17 Conmebol at 15, 5G/A. Went to U20 World Cup at 16, 3 G/A in 4 games & is now in the SENIOR Ecuador squad at 16.

Kendry prefers to be an 8/10, get on the ball & find pockets, where you see his incredible technical quality in tight spaces. Image
Kendry Páez: 9/10 (cont.)

Kendry is only 16, but sometimes a player just has that little special something & judging by the quality shown at such a young age, everything points to Kendry becoming one of the best players in the world in years to come.

Watch this space. 💎 Image
Andrey Santos: 7/10 (potential 9/10)

Played as a 6 in a 3-man, which he can play but not his best suit. This meant he couldn’t arrive late in the box or carry the ball which are some of his best attributes.

Very solid defensively, monster tackler. Vocal leader at a young age. Image
Andrey Santos: 7/10, potential 9/10 (cont.)

He’s more well suited as a B2B, which he didn’t get to do in this loan.

Probably needs a European loan where he gets a lot of game time as a starter.

Has a bright future ahead of him, definitely Chelsea material. Image
Alex Matos: 5/10, potential 9/10

Matos, previously a striker, moved to midfield this season & has showed promise.

Drives with the ball really well, covers ground & shows great aggression.

He's still raw. Pressing is often poor, but this can be rectified with better coaching. Image
Alex Matos: 5/10, potential 9/10 (cont.)

Physical capabilities are outstanding. Quick, strong & good 1 v 1. Still raw, but so much talent to work on.

He has development to do, but he has the potential to be an extremely dynamic player for Chelsea in the future. Image
Diego Moreira: 7.5/10

Big part of Benfica winning U19 equivalent of the Champions League in 21/22.

Started pre-season last year with 1st team, but was sent back down.

Rumoured attitude problems. Played very little on the B team this year, mostly as sub, maybe due to contract. Image
Diego Moreira: 7.5/10 (cont.)

Good dribbler with flair, 1 on 1s, get vertical, cut in & shoot. Very fast & agile, but can get lost with his dribble. Below average vision & passing.

Didn’t fit Benfica’s idea. Best in 4-3-3.

Potential: good super sub for Chelsea. Ceiling: Antony Image
Callum Hudson-Odoi: 3/10

We had high hopes for CHO & his start was alright, in a bad team.

His pace was good & had good combinations, but not dangerous enough in-front of goal.

With Alonso he got less & less minutes, as he wasn't good enough, but also didn't fit new system. Image
Callum Hudson-Odoi: 3/10 (cont.)

Overall, it made no sense to develop a loan player instead of our young players, who were playing a bit better & have long term contracts.

He still has potential, but should not be an option at Chelsea next season. Image
Dujuan Richards: 9/10

Dujuan is a 17 year old, 6ft 3" striker. He's one of the brightest prospects around & caught the eye with 50 G/A in 18 games in a tournament in 2022.

Dujuan will join Chelsea in October, when he turns 18. He got a Jamaica Senior team call up in January. Image
Dujuan Richards: 9/10 (cont.)

His power, speed & technique with a 6ft 3" frame makes him special & unique. He likes to get the ball deep & drive with power, no fear & excellent tight control, despite his height.

Dujuan definitely has the talent to be a huge player for Chelsea. Image
Jimmy-Jay Morgan: 9.5/10

A high-volume goalscorer, who enjoys running in behind, the teenage England star had a near perfect youth campaign with 17g, 8a in 18 games.

Once he's recovered from his injury, he'll be a serious threat for the U21s. Image
Romelu Lukaku: 7/10

Lukaku got 21 G/A, G/A every 95 mins.

Start of season was injured & poor form. However, post international break Lukaku was back, with 7 goals & 4 assists in 9 games.

Terrible UCL final performance, but I still hope Lukaku stays at Inter next season. Image
Finally, it's the end of this thread. Hopefully you found it informative & helpful. 🤝

This genuinely took absolutely ages to put together, so all support is appreciated. 💙 Image

So close to completing the 2nd edition of this thread.

These are the players remaining that I’d like included in the thread, so if you know anyone who watches them, let me know:

• Gaga Slonina
• Kendry Páez
• Dujuan Richards
• Teddy Sherman-Lowe
For Slonina I need a Chicago Fire fan, not someone who’s watched him for Chelsea U21s or at the U20 World Cup, otherwise I could just write it 😂
Sorry I forgot I also need one for Malang Sarr, so if anyone knows a Monaco fan, please let me know!

Why Chelsea fans should be excited about Timo Werner:

[ A THREAD ]
In his 1st season at Chelsea Werner was underwhelming in terms of goalscoring. The pressure was on him to score all the goals and he cracked.

With Lukaku arriving the pressure of scoring ALL the goals should hopefully be somewhat lifted and he won’t be scrutinised as much.
Werner scores the most goals and does his best work in a 2 striker formation.

With Lukaku joining, Werner can play with a 2nd striker who likes to hold up the ball, giving Werner more freedom on the pitch.

He will also get to play in the left channel, his favourite.
