Decoding Saturn: Lessons from Ashtavakra's story

[Astro-Thread] Image
Once upon a time, in ancient India,

there was a learned scholar named Kahoda.

He was expecting his first child and was filled with anticipation and joy.

Little did he know, the journey that awaited was extraordinary.
Every day,

Kahoda would share his vast knowledge with his unborn child,

reciting scriptures and philosophies in the presence of his pregnant wife.

He dreamed of his child becoming a scholar like him.
But one day,

the child, still in the womb, corrected Kahoda's pronunciation during his recitation.

Out of pride, Kahoda cursed the child to be born with eight deformities,

hence the name Ashtavakra (Eight-bends)
Because of that,

Ashtavakra was born physically deformed.

Despite his physical challenges, he was a gifted child, with wisdom that surpassed even the most learned scholars
Ashtavakra was often ridiculed and bullied.

Yet, he remained unaffected, his focus unwavering from the pursuit of knowledge.

His wisdom grew, overshadowing his deformities
one day, he learnt that his father, a great scholar, had been defeated in a debate by the king’s courtier & was imprisoned

Because of that, he decided to challenge the courtier and free his father

he went to the king’s court and impressed everyone with his wisdom and knowledge
Until finally, he defeated the courtier in a debate and released his father

Ashtavakra's victory was celebrated, and he was revered.

His physical form was no longer a subject of ridicule, but of respect

ever since then, he became known as a great sage & teacher of Vedanta
Looking at the similarities between Ashtavakra's story and the planet Saturn.

Saturn, known as Shani in Indian astrology, also had a strained relationship with his father, the Sun
Saturn's story is also one of hardship and challenges.

He was born lame, which is considered a form of deformation.

He was dark in complexion, and his father, the Sun, was not pleased with his appearance
Yet, Saturn is known for his wisdom, just like Ashtavakra.

Saturn's wisdom came from his experiences, his hardships.

He understood the world's suffering and became a symbol of timeless wisdom in astrology
Understanding Ashtavakra's story provides insights into Saturn's significance.

Both faced adversity and physical deformity, yet they rose above it to impart wisdom and justice.

They teach us to find strength in our struggles.
Saturn, much like Ashtavakra, teaches us that physical appearance or societal judgments do not define us.

Our true worth lies in our knowledge, wisdom, and the strength of our character
By understanding Ashtavakra's story,

we gain a deeper appreciation of Saturn's role in astrology.

Both remind us that true wisdom often comes from overcoming adversity.

This is the timeless wisdom that Saturn, the tough teacher, imparts to us

[Thread]🧵 Image
Imagine playing a video game

You control a character, making it run, jump, fight

But YOU are not the character, Are you?

You're the player, observing & directing the character's actions

Similarly...

you're not your body, mind, or soul - you're the observer behind them
Ancient Hindu scriptures propose this intriguing idea,

you are not just these identities(mind, body or soul),

but the witnesses(or observer) to them

Understanding this concept will change your life forever.

Why? How? Let's explore together

Venus closely conjunct Rahu is a strong indication for multiple relationships
