Persona 3 Reload Famitsu scans. A translation will be available to read shortly. #p3re ImageImageImageImage
Yamaguchi: “As for the progress of development, we are now in the final stages of that process.

I am confident that those who have been waiting for this game will be satisfied with it.”
“During a period where I was faced with a difficult decision, I would often forget my position as an Atlus staff member and think about what would make me happy if I were a fan waiting for the remake.”
Niitsuma: “From the very beginning of proposing this project, we had the keyword ‘rebirth’ in mind. In other words, the entire team worked on this project with the idea that it would be a ‘deeper dive’ rather than an evolution of Persona 3.”
“I believe we have been able to delve deeper into these aspects of the game, and I hope that it will draw everyone’s attention.”
Yamaguchi: “In the past, Atlus has remastered past titles for current platforms and added various elements, but this was just about the first time we remade a game from the ground up, to the extent where the graphics were completely redone from scratch.”
“Therefore, I feel we had more discussions than we had ever had before about how much to change, not to change, what to add, what not to add and so on so forth. Nearly half of the staff had played the original P3 as fans, so everyone approached developing this title with love.”
Niitsuma: “The general principle was to be faithful to the original Persona 3. If there was something we felt we wanted to add or change, we would explain our proposals to Wada and get his approval.”
Question: “The largest change seems to be in the graphics. Was it difficult to recreate the original game that was released on PS2 to be of the same quality as Persona 5?”
Yamaguchi: “Yes, undoubtedly. When it comes to the characters, we put in a lot of intense effort to recreate the 3D models, 2D cut-in illustrations during conversations and other graphical elements that players would expect from current Persona titles.”
“Particularly, we put a lot of effort into achieving a level of detail that players have come to expect. The illustrations are very expressive, and the 3D models are so detailed that you will want to see them up close to their complete extent.”
“Rather than simply enlarge the field, we reorganized it so that there is a sense of density both as a gameplay element and landscape. We have also created fields that will allow players to feel the density of the landscape before them.”
Niitsuma: “Just about everything has been redesigned, but the biggest change in appearance would have to be Tartarus. Not only did we change the look and feel of the dungeon, but we have also made it more fun to play by adding elements that make it more worth exploring.”
“It is also now possible to dash while making your way through Tartarus.”
Question: “What kind of content can we expect from these scenarios?”
Yamaguchi: “The main story is something we consider something of an ensemble piece, so that leaves room to dive deeper into the various stories of the characters that we’re not given as much of a focus in the original Persona 3.“
“This is an entirely new element that is different from the Social Link and Confidant system featured in previous titles.”

Good morning.

A translation is on the way.
-Some of the development staff on P5R at the end of its development were moved to P3R, and then became the development team for P3R.
-P3R is a remake that is meant to be played just like P5.
I am translating the entire article, so please be patient. It should be done soon. ありがとう!

The latest issue of Famitsu also contained an interview with Soejima, Oribe and Wada on the series’ art work. A full translation will be available shortly. ImageImage
Question: “When it comes to the artwork of the series, it is my understanding that outside of Soejima, there have been many team members involved in the art design process for the series. First of all, please tell us about your current structure.”
Soejima: “During the time when Persona 4 was released in 2008, there were mainly two people who worked on the artwork for the Persona series: myself and Oribe.”

Question: “Speaking of, there was Persona 3 FES, which added an assortment of new content. And, of course, Persona 3 Portable, which allowed you to play as a female protagonist. How will Persona 3 Reload position itself?”
Niitsuma: “First of all, to avoid any misunderstandings here, let’s set this straight. Persona 3 Reload is meant to be a remake of the original Persona 3 for current platforms, so it does not include The Answer from ‘FES’ or the female protagonist from ‘Portable.’”
“However, this does not mean that new elements added to the main story (The Journey) of Persona 3 that were added in ‘FES’ do not appear at all in Reload. The remake is quite content-filled, including the new side story elements mentioned earlier.”
