We analyzed billions of AI crawler requests to figure out how each crawler handles JavaScript rendering, assets, and other behavior.

Here's what we found.
Search engine crawlers still outpace AI crawlers, but it's growing significantly.

Last month GPTBot, Claude, AppleBot, and PerplexityBot combined account for nearly 1.3 billion fetches—a little over 28% of Googlebot's volume.
Results consistently show that none of the major AI crawlers currently render JavaScript.

However, Google's Gemini and AppleBot enable full JavaScript rendering, which may push others to follow.

We analyzed over 100,000 Googlebot fetches to figure out just how Google handles JavaScript throughout its crawling, rendering, and indexing processes.

Here's what we found.
Myth: "Google can't render client-side JavaScript."

Reality: Google completely renders 100% of HTML pages, unless they would otherwise throw an error.
Myth: "Google treats JavaScript pages differently."

Reality: Regardless of JavaScript complexity, Google successfully renders pages and discovers links.
