🚨 FC Bayern has given Tarek #Buchmann a professional contract until 2026. The 18-year-old defender joined the U16s of the German record champions from the FC Augsburg youth team in 2019 and has played in all youth teams since then.
Last season he made 18 competitive appearances (one goal) for the U19s, including five in the UEFA Youth League. Buchmann made his debut for the German U18s in March and has made 13 appearances for the DFB youth teams.
Jan-Christian #Dreesen: "We are very pleased to bring Tarek Buchmann, a promising talent from our FC Bayern campus, closer to our professional team. He has developed very well over the past few years and now he has the opportunity to take the next step with us"
Tarek Buchmann: "It's a big honor for me to sign my first professional contract with FC Bayern. I know what a privilege it is to play for this club. The club has always given me great support and encouragement, I feel a lot of trust."
Buchmann: "At the same time, I see it as my obligation to keep working hard on myself. I want to take my chances, in every training session and game, to go down a successful path together with FC Bayern."

Born in Emmerich am Rhein, Germany, close to the Dutch border, Gosens eventually joined the academy of Eredivisie side Vitesse after failing to win a contract at Dortmund following a trial.
But Gosens, who is eligible to play for both Holland or Germany, never ended up playing a game for Vitesse and was instead loaned to second division side FC Dordrecht in January 2014. He performed well across 16 appearances to help them win promotion to the top flight. 👇
That earned himself another season there as he played a further 33 games and scoring three goals.
Musiala on the mood in camp: "It's good. We all know each other well and are laughing a lot. The mood would be even better if we were able to win more games. We enjoy training and everything else is great too. We just have to win games now, that would make life even better."
Musiala on a place in the starting XI: "Whether I start or not doesn't really change much for me, I prepare in the same way. We all want to win and will do all we can to do that. We want to build some momentum."
Hansi #Flick on the game against Poland: "Poland are a very strong and well-drilled side. Of course we have also thought about who we want to play against. We will make some changes and Jamal will start." #POLGER
Flick on the mood looking ahead to EURO 2024: "We are absolutely looking forward to it. It's also clear that we imagined the last few games differently. We have conceded three goals in each of the last two games, which is not what we want."
Flick: "This has nothing to do with the system, but rather individual mistakes. We have to get the basics right, such as how to approach challenges and thinking about who is covering, but also how to keep the ball under pressure."
Raphael #Guerreiro's decision to represent Portugal at international level has been fully vindicated, but there's nothing to suggest the departing Borussia Dortmund left-sided specialist wouldn't have enjoyed equal success had he plumped for France. A thread 🧵
After coming through France's renowned Clairefontaine academy, Guerreiro signed for Caen, where he pledged his international allegiance to his father's homeland, Portugal, ahead of his country of birth. ⬇️
Givors-born Anthony Lopes and Adrien Silva, the latter having lived in France until the age of 12, also opted for an international career with The Navigators instead of Les Bleus.
Jordan Beyer (FC Burnley) and Jan Thielmann (1. FC Köln) will have to leave the U21 national team training camp in South Tyrol due to injury. Both will therefore be absent from the U21 European Championship in Georgia and Romania (21st June to 8th July). [DFB]
Head coach Antonio Di Salvo had originally named 26 players in the provisional European Championship squad.
Due to the absence of Beyer, Thielmann and Patrick Osterhage (VfL Bochum), who did not travel to the training camp due to injury, the squad has now been reduced to 23 players. The DFB will report the finalised squad to UEFA by Wednesday evening.
