In the United States, the equivalent of a Higher National Diploma (HND) is typically an Associate's degree.

• Canada, Australia, and the UK: You can work up to 20 hours per week and more hours during the holidays.
• USA: You can work up to 20 hours per week but only on-campus jobs. (working off-campus is possible but more complicated. It’s only available to F1 students who completed at least one year of their program and have economical hardship).
• Germany: Working in Germany while studying is possible for 120 full days or 240 half days per year.
• Spain and Italy: You have to apply for a work permit first to be able to work for 20 hours per week.
