my take of this story #joongdok

a bit of plot twist, kdj actually knew from the start that yjh was there with him because of revenge.

and yet, even knowing that, he can't help but love the one who might kill him

kdj feigned ignorance and yjh thought that he hid it well, that he hid the anger of the death of his family but he can't win against kdj's intuition (or information network? maybe)

time goes by, yjh didn't know when did it start

when did he start staring more to kdj, staring to his eyes where it was like looking into the universe, the stars

when did he start genuinely caring more about kdj's condition, as that reader can't seem to take care of himself

yjh really didn't know, it just started in one of the days they spent their time together (ang ganda siguro if they just spent months together, di pa umabot ng isang taon)

let's just say that one day, on the day of the death anniversary of his family, his grief suddenly appeared

his grief about the death of his family, and the cause of that death was kdj's family

yjh knew he had to choose, and his friends (maybe) that planned for this revenge are not helping as they pressure about what should they do

well, at the end, yjh chose revenge instead of something-he-can't-name that he has with kdj

now, let's go to kdj's pov

kdj knew from the start on what really was yjh's intention to him. he knew because he was there when his family was celebrating about yjh's family's death, and they were talking about a little boy who cried out that he'll get revenge one day

(medyo lumalim, let's just say na the death happened during their childhood para mas masakit wahaha and also para mas mag lean talaga yung decision ni yjh sa revenge instead of continuing his relationship with kdj)

kdj, a child that time, asked what was the boy's name and his one relative said "yoo joonghyuk"

kdj, being an intellectual even as a child, knew that he should look out for that guy in the future because he knew he will inherit their business one day as he was an only child

forward to when he met yjh

yjh just introduced himself to kdj with his first name, leaving his surname behind

kdj has that intuition, that this was the child back then that wanted revenge but he wanted to make sure

and so, he ran a background check with help of hsy

(yes im dragging another character)

hsy is kdj's friend, the realest friend anyone could have

hsy confirmed that yjh was really the child back then, and warned kdj that this was dangerous

kdj just shrugged and said something along the lines that this kind of life they had is already dangerous

you see, kdj at this time is currently crowned as heir of their business as he was the only child and he also excelled in every aspect in this business

so you can say that kdj is a really important person in their family

back to the story, kdj continued seeing yjh even though he knows the other's intention

why you ask? this is because yjh treated him as a person, not some heir of a business. yjh treated kdj as if he was special

during their relationship, during their time together, kdj cherished every moment (I know yjh did too)

in those moments, kdj forgot about yjh's real intentions

he just kind of remember it again whenever he met up with hsy (of course, not without leaving tons of swear—)

whenever kdj met up with hsy, he was faced with harsh truth. all the time.

so at one point he stopped meeting hsy, but the thought of yjh's revenge at that time did not leave his mind

he was scared but he chose to stay with yjh

and this continued for months, until he started to see yjh changing

it was subtle but kdj is an observant person so those signs didn't escape him

with those signs, kdj knew that yjh's revenge will come

but, kdj still didn't do anything

ah, he did something actually

he started to slowly give out some of his properties to his friends (hsy, jhw maybe, and others) without anyone knowing

and maybe started writing his last will, stating that the company will be inherited by whoever kills him

he just did these things until the day came.

the storm after the calm.

yjh and kdj anticipated this coming

yjh's group attacked the company, or they ambushed the company

kdj's company was overwhelmed, so yjh's group succeeded

yjh and kdj fought too.

they fought each other as yjh, a boy who sweared he'll get revenge to his family's death, and kdj, who was the important figure of their family whose responsible for yjh's family death

it's like they threw all their moments together away, as they fought as real enemies

of course, yjh won. he managed to corner kdj.

simply because yjh is stronger, and kdj knows that

with the gun on his temple, kdj sneered at yjh

"what? pull it. yoo joonghyuk."

yjh faltered. he saw how kdj mocked him with his smile but he also saw how tired kdj's eyes was.

yjh saw that kdj is accepting his death, then yjh suddenly remembered all the things they did together and all the moments they spent together

its like memories came flashing to his mind

yjh closes his eyes as he hesitated to pull the trigger, and then at some point he pulled out his gun that was pointing to kdj's head

of course, kdj saw this, then did the unthinkable

kdj pulled and pointed the gun to his heart and pulled the trigger

it happened so fast that yjh didn't have time to react on what kdj did

yjh cried out the word why so many times

he also tried to stop the bleeding but it was all for naught

kdj smiled and held yjh's cheek

"I knew."

"....what?"

"I-I'm sorry ab-bout m-my f-fami-ly."

kdj tried taking in air but it hurts, it burns

with a smile, kdj said his last words

"I love you,J-joonghyuk-ah."

after that, his hand went limp
