of course jokes in poor taste about tragedies can be funny, because they are self-consciously wicked but asking people to think being cruel is virtuous is a bit much
kind of ruins the fun tbh
just own you are being a little anti social and mean don’t act like it’s praxis
some people have trouble imagining that not every single one of their actions or thoughts is good

i think the trick to being a writer or any other creative profession is realizing it’s an idiosyncratic life and you need to figure out a process that works for you. it takes time but usually you arrive at it organically if you’re dedicated
some people need to do the monastic thing, other people can write coming off 3 hours of sleep with a bad hangover

there's a variety of ultraleftism on here that has like an indie rock snob attitude to politics, they will hold a position until mainstream liberals share it, and then its no longer cool, so then they have to shift to a more niche position
i may be an extremely obnoxious person but i try not to select my political positions on the basis of how obnoxious they are

Yes, it is tiring. Once again, this recommends the analogy that Robin disdains. The fascist regimes combined the dynamism and plebiscitary punch of the mass movement with the preexisting agenda of anti-democratic conservative elites
Prior to the Matteotti crisis, Mussolini's regime was constitutional. Each step to dictatorship was the elite trying to normalize and tame the movement within conventional political constraints. In Germany, the deeply conservative judiciary paved the way.
The key question is how the interplay between Trump's populism and the conservatives in the GOP works. It could be that the conservatives end up predominant, but to pretend that the anti-systemic part of Trumpism doesn't exist or isn't important just ignores half the equation

he’s certainly fun and exciting to them but many think he’s an extraordinarily accomplished and capable person, some to the point of believing he had nearly magical powers. but this is basically just describing charismatic authority
he’s the very image of success for a lot of people
i know it’s difficult to imagine donald trump as some sort of messianic figure but … he did it for a lot of people!

People try to take away information from these Russian propaganda talk shows, but it's clear that they are just a bunch of people sitting around and saying lunatic and outrageous stuff to just to dumb down the level of discourse to total idiocy, this is what people will repeat
to their barber, to their friends, to the taxi driver, etc. it's just putting garbage out there so people can't and won't think
people are like their hysteria is a clear sign Russia is losing, I think the message is right there in the form: stupidity, fearfulness, and nonsense
