✨ Today we're launching AI coding features to our Pro+ subscribers located in the United States, including natural language to code generation, code completion, and an integrated chatbot. We'd love to hear from you with positive examples of AI coding in Colab: please share! 1/
Natural language to code generation can be accessed in any new blank code cell: click on Generate and type in a prompt. This will render generated code (including checking for licensing). The prompt is saved as a comment in the cell. 2/
Code completions are rendered automatically when typing. Our models use the context of the notebook to improve suggestions. You can disable these suggestions in Settings > Editor > Automatically trigger code completions. 3/
Clicking the 'Colab AI' button will invoke the integrated chatbot. We've found it's especially useful when you have an empty notebook and need some help getting started on a task. It'll only answer questions about Colab and programming, if you have other questions, ask Bard! 4/
These features are just the beginning! We're imagining all of the different ways AI coding can be incorporated in your workflow, starting with error explanation. When you encounter runtime errors in execution, Colab will prompt you to ask for an error explanation in chat 5/
We'll be expanding access to US Pro subscribers in the coming days, and to the free-of-charge tier and other regions as soon as we are able. These are experimental features and we plan on improving them a lot over time! 🚀🚀🚀 end/
