1/ Alright, because no one will leave me alone, this is my unexpert, totally guessing explanation as to why Wagner stopped just outside of Moscow.
Just like you always wanted, here is some random idiot's opinion but it's okay cos I'm famous on reddit.
2/ Firstly you need to understand Proggy is an outsider. He has no political influence nor friends. Shoggy, on the other hand, does, and a lot of it. He's survived purges before. He is a master when it comes to political maneuvering.
3/ Shoggy is good at intimidation, its how he survives, his "coup" was basically that, an intimidation tactic. he wasn't looking to replace Shogiu he just wanted to show how vulnerable Putin was without him and use it as leverage to get what he wanted.
4/ But Putin's biggest fear is some general of the army, getting the admiration of the public, and replacing him.
So Putin turned his back on him, and as soon as he did that Proggy's "march on Moscow" stopped being an intimidation tactic and became an armed rebellion.
5/ At that exact point, regardless of what happened next, Proggy had lost.
Because though he was half an hour from Moscow, though basically, nothing stood in his way of seizing the Kremlin, he who holds the knife can never wear the crown.
6/ Like I said, Proggy has no political influence, no friends, and no-one to call on. He would have sat alone and his ranks would have been filled with the desperate, and the power-hungry who had power in name only.
Putin's allies would have surrounded him in St Petersberg.
7/ If Proggy's aim was to end the war in Ukraine this would have been a good thing, Putin would have been forced to withdraw troops. But Proggys position was the war continue, just he could do a better job.
He knew if he seized power the war was lost. But....
8/ ...even if there was some agreement plan put in place and the war continued with Proggy in command, he would likely not have brought any great victory, and he knows that.
Proggy and Wagner are good at intimidation, fast infantry assaults, and using prisoners as meat shields,
9/ But this is what Russia is good at anyway. That's not the problem, it's never been the problem.
The problem is logistics and supply, stuff Proggy knows basically nothing about, and cannot fix.
The war would have continued on much as it is now, which would have lost him favor.
10/And as the war dragged on, as proggy proved he had no magic trick up his sleeve, he would have lost what little favor he had gained and his reign would have ended.
And the thing is, he was fully aware of it.
So he took the easy way out, even if it made no obvious sense.
11/ Expect him to gain a sudden heart condition, or fall out of a window, or to bravely lead the charge across the minefield within the coming weeks.

According to this Russia has 700k+ mobiks waiting in Belarus ready to flood across the border, with an expected attack in the coming weeks.
Now this is an interesting claim as we have seen evidence of soldiers and equipment being moved en mass into Belarus.
/2
As well as threats from Putin to bring Belarus into this war.
Russia has spent considerable effort upgrading anti-air defenses in the region as well as upgrading airbases to handle more traffic.
There has been every indication that something "might" happen from this direction.
/3
But as you can imagine it's not as simple as that.
Let's start with the most obvious, 700k+200k in reserve? That sounds like a fantasy number, 900k would be higher than all the forces Russia has committed to this campaign combined.
It is higher than the number Putin was able..
1/ Russian Propaganda is currently aimed at not making you pro-Putin, but to turn you away from supporting Ukraine, or protesting against the support of Ukraine, in whatever manner it can.
Imperialism, War Bad, to it being a waste of money or "just as bad as each other".
🧵
2/ Naturally, those who follow this narrative, the people who have been dominantly anti-Ukraine.
Tend to cluster towards the extremes of the left and the right.
Otherwise known as people who are more susceptible to Propaganda and often overestimate their ability to recognize it.
3/ Many have even integrated this argument into the culture war most think they fight, thus it has devolved into a "you're on the 'other' side, which is Evil, you're Pro-Nato, so I *must* be the opposite because the opposite is good!"
So people support Russia out of 'Morality'
1/
I'm going to be honest here in this little🧵as much as it would be satisfying to watch the vatniks reaction when russia finally faces the full might of Nato and not just small groups of volunteers and all guns left in a warehouse for 30 years, I don't think it'll come to that
2/ Behind a screen it is easy to distance ones self from the reality of war, but things become very different when it's your blood being spilled, as we've seen in russia the attitude of everyone towards the war quickly changed when it was their blood and not the faceless soldiers
3/ Boots on the ground is risky. Western media turns every loss into a fucking pantomime and every suit with a dead political career comes charging out the woodwork to "offer their opinion" which always amounts to "<current president> Bad!!"
I actually cannot stress just how dumb a "hot take" this is.
Drones have been a thing for years now and many armies have spent millions investing in affordable anti-drone weapons, including the US, Britian, and Russia.
Most of these have proven very effective 1/
2/ If you don't believe me, buy a drone from your local hobby store and fly it around your nearest military base and see what happens.
No, don't point to someone on Youtube doing it and "hurr durr they got away scot-free!"
YOU do it.
3/
The threat posed by these drones is nothing new. Slow-moving, propellor-driven missiles are not a new thing, but their disadvantages of them outweigh any benefits.
