The original and remade versions of RE2 do many things better and worse than one another. One thing that always gets brought up is the worse B Scenarios in the remake. While this is true, let's take a look at the differences between campaigns in both RE2s.

#REBHFun

So when breaking down a FULL playthrough of both versions of RE2 (Claire A and Leon B for the 1998 version or Leon 1st and Claire 2nd Run in the remake) there's actually MORE differences between campaigns in the remake believe it or not.
2/9

You'll find 249 differences while playing a B scenario and 307 changes while playing a different character's 2nd Run. So the 2nd Runs DO add things. But more importantly, the 1st runs in 2 Remake are way more differing than Claire and Leon's A Scenarios from the original RE2.
3/9

While RE2 1998 put all the differences into the B Scenario (with the A Scenarios just having a new story for the other character and some mild changes), the Remake put those B Scenario alterations into Claire or Leon's 1st Runs instead.

4/9

2nd Run adds stuff in the Remake. But much like comparing the old game's A Scenarios, it's mostly miniscule differences to freshen it up rather than make a new campaign entirely. At the end of the day, RE2 has never been FOUR whopping, different campaigns like some think.

5/9
In truth, RE2 always works best when playing a Leon campaign then the complementary Claire campaign (or vice versa). Playing all four campaigns is only a addition to the replayability meant for the most die-hard fans.

6/9

I counted every little difference between campaigns that I could find. From Sherry holding Claire's hand in 1998 (which Leon obviously doesn't do), to a new puzzle solution in RE2R, to a single altered line of dialogue in a B Scenario, to Mr X showing up earlier in remake.

7/9

Despite all that, 2 Remake still has a few more changes. There's many MANY things that the old and new versions of RE2 do better than one another, but the whole campaign debate is just wrong when it can simply be broken down as:

B Scenarios > 2nd Runs
1st Runs > A Scenarios

8/9

I'm not biased. I like OG RE2 a smidge more than the remake. But I'm just kind of tired of hearing about how 2 Remake ruined the scenarios and campaigns and it tarnishing the reputation of a really GOOD Resi game. In truth, it did it about as good. It just handled it differently.

@comfortredfield since we haven't really seen her be a proper "grey" character since the original RE2 (I think they heavily watered down her character in Darkside Chronicles) and I think her being a legitimately bad mom was something we needed to see since her and Sherry only had one scene

2/3
@comfortredfield together in 98. But hey, I'm a Resi fan who's in it for the story and loved 2 Remake's storytelling. You're an RE fan who loves the lore equally and DIDN'T like the Remake's story. Today we just didn't sync up and that's fine. 👍
@smthvalentine it's outstanding aside from a few hiccups as a remake (outside of being a remake it's darn near perfect). I honestly like when remakes and their original counterparts differ because it just means we get two versions of one great game. 😅 Glad it got you back into Resi!
@comfortredfield Orphanage, but it feels like this is still an Irons pretending to be a cop rather than the character he's SUPPOSED to be at this point when the city's toppled. It would've been cool to see him be this scumbag but then slowly lose his mind before becoming the Irons we know
2/3
@comfortredfield and love(?). We were robbed of THAT maniac villain chasing us around a spooky orphanage really. And the Ada/John thing was great. Especially since it was already mentioned in 1R. My head canon is that Ada pretended to be FBI to get John's trust but it's sadly missing nonetheless.
@dyshitezhabrami of that game's story. It's technically all sorta canon but Claire A/Leon B is still the best way to got since it checks the most boxes. The remake however, seemingly goes with Leon 1/Claire 2 since Marvin giving Leon the knife is canon in the remakes.
2/2
@Siriacus2 @nerodsi Seriously, why on earth even bother telling RE3's story IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TELL RE3'S STORY? 😂
@RealJamesFitton @comfortredfield 2 Remake admittedly rewrote some of the characters worse, it absolutely enhanced many of them and even made the emotional arcs of Leon and Claire(the main story of the game)more hard hitting. Sure there's hiccups in the complex story of RE2, but they didn't just ruin everything.
@Revenge_I_Guess middle ground for the 3 repeated bosses. But this whole thing was for the common misconception that 2 Remake is just the same campaign but done four times. I just feel like the alternate campaigns deserve some more love, even if they had some goofs in there.
2/2
@Russeck1 does give us Leon's great line about nobody listening to him so that one does have some substance. The radio calls make up 30 seconds of RE2 so I don't think it's a huge loss. And even then, we get the notes written by Leon or Claire in the 2nd Runs in the remake. While these
2/3
@Russeck1 notes aren't quite as cool, they still add interactions between the two. At that point, with the same amount of dialogue, nearly the same amount of scenes and screentime and filler files for the radios, I feel their time together is barely less and not THAT much of an issue.

RE8 saw the turn of The BSAA to full fledged villain. However, this shift wasn't random. For years this organization has turned a blind eye and committed its own atrocities to accomplish its goals. So let us take a look at the BSAA's dark history of shady actions.

•The BSAA right out the gate was headed by Clive O'Brien (one of the original 11 founders for the company), who used his power to fake a bioterror attack just to topple a rival of his. The scandal led to some unfortunate casualties and O'Brien stepped down from his position

•Next the BSAA accepted funding from the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium who in truth were using the BSAA as a scapegoat to make the public believe not all pharmaceutical companies were like Umbrella

•They ordered Chris and Sheva to go alone(a suicide mission)into Kijuju
